Extra Butter and Saucony will collaborate to release the Shadow 6000 known as ‘White Rabbit.’
The design and color blocking references the White Rabbit character made famous by Lewis Carroll’s novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, but conceptually focuses on the “down the rabbit hole,” which has since become a metaphor for exploring the subconscious and philosophies of the metaphysical.
This Saucony Shadow 6000 is constructed with a mixture of premium leather, pig suede, and sport mesh with reflective underlays. The traditional ‘running man’ found on the woven tongue label of most Saucony Originals products has been replaced by a custom white rabbit silhouette. The box and insole were designed with a vibrant and colorful psychedelic overhaul, contrasting the simplicity of the shoe itself. Lastly, Extra Butter has designed the shoe with a hidden element that speaks directly to the original inspiration of “further down the rabbit hole.”
“In an age of information overload and technology influenced social behavior, we’re seeing a shift in questioning one’s purpose, identity and even how one can alter reality and truth around them.” says Bernie Gross of Extra Butter. “We’re seeing people utilize the web to dig deeper into knowledge, while others look to disconnect and explore within their subconscious for spiritual or psychedelic enlightenment.
