Black Friday is approaching, and GOAT will host another special launch in collaboration with Nike Sportswear and Ducks of a Feather. The end result is the DOAF x Nike Air Force 1 Low, available in two colorways. Known as โEgg or Duck,โ and โDuck or Egg,โ the pack is a play off the question, โWhich came first, the duck or the egg?โ
Ducks of a Feather is an Oregon-based collective connected to the University of Oregon athletics, specifically supporting the Ducks’ sports programs through merchandise, collaborations, and community initiatives. The group emerged from Oregon’s name, image, and likeness (NIL) landscape, where student-athletes can now profit from their personal brands and participate in commercial ventures.
The “Egg or Duck” colorway features white as the main color across full-grain leather panels on the toe, quarter, and heel, which references eggshells. Gorge green and green spark connect to the University of Oregon’s team colors. The two greens appear on overlays, Swooshes, and are speckled across the panels. On the panels and toe, we have iridescent detailing that shifts in color depending on the light.

The plush terry fabric introduces a towel-like texture to the liner, while mesh is featured on the tongue. What I like most about this pair is the webbed duck footprints by the heel. Additionally, branding includes the “Which Came First?” tag on the inside of the tongue, โDUCKโ and โEGGโ on the heels, and โDUCKS OF A FEATHERโ on the insoles.
As for the second pair, which is my favorite, is dubbed โDuck or Egg.โ Utilizing the same elements as the โEgg or Duckโ pair, it features “Which Came First?” tag on the inside of the tongue, โDUCKโ and โEGGโ on the heels, and โDUCKS OF A FEATHERโ on the insoles.
Whatโs different about this pair is the colorway used. The upper is covered in golden yellow hues and features a combination of yellow and gold, a nod to baby ducklings. The suede details on the upper also reference the fluffy appearance of newly hatched ducklings. As for the Swoosh logos, they have a textured finish reminiscent of feathers. Other details include Green on the laces and a cracked egg on the lateral side.

Bottom Line
I have been a sucker for these Ducks of a Feather x Nike collaborations. No, itโs not because GOAT sends me pairs (I always appreciate them for doing it), but the uniqueness of each pair is what drives me to them. Sure, they could probably just slap the Oregon Ducks logo on it, and the shoes would sell out, but the design elements take it a step further. The theme of this pack also fits in with the Ducks. The only thing that would have been better is if this release had coincided with Easter.
