Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder are off to another hot start. Matching his incredible season is his first signature shoe, the Converse Shai 001. The next pair to drop will occur in December and is known as the “Winter Red” Shai 001. This pair will help Shai fans celebrate Christmas and features a clean Red and Green color scheme.
Once again, this Converse Shai 001 features a minimalistic approach. However, with this pair, not everything is covered in one shade. As you can see, the upper is drenched in Red, which covers the shroud, sculpted panels, and neoprene upper. Building upon the Christmas theme, Green adorns the zipper, tongue branding, insoles, and lands on the rubber outsole. Shai’s logo graces the tongues, while the Converse branding is placed on the heels and insoles. Although the outsole features Green accents, most of it is dipped in Red.

Bottom Line
Usually, I am not a big fan of minimalistic colorways. Moreso, pairs covered in one shade. However, Shai’s line makes every color option work. While my favorite pair is the Masi Blue, the “Winter Red” Shai 001 is in a close second. Nothing over-the-top with this pair, but the blocking definitely has Christmas vibes without snowflakes, snowballs, or Santa Claus.
