Concepts is back with another collaboration with New Balance on a familiar model. Going back almost a decade, we have a new iteration of the 997. While the other drops are considered classics and are still brought up today, the boutique’s latest rendition is the “Montage” New Balance 997.
What’s special about this New Balance 997 by Concepts is that it pays tribute to the four prior 997 projects. The overall build and color blocking are on par with past Concepts releases. Highlighted with premium materials, the toe features Grey perforated suede, while Charcoal appears on the panels, and the “N” logo has a translucent tint. Black wraps the heel, but the Pink heel clip stands out. CNCPTS branding in Orange graces the heels, and Yellow fills in the strip above the toe. Finishing details include a Cream vintage-inspired midsole with “997 New Balance” branding.

Bottom Line
The 997 is one of my favorite models from New Balance, and Concepts has another home run collaboration on the Montage. The use of mostly dark shades with minimal bright accents is what I love about a shoe. While some are not fans of aged details, it’s one of the things I enjoy about these releases. It reminds me of vintage pairs. This collaboration is a must-pick up for me.
