Jordan Brand helped celebrate Will Smith’s 50th birthday in 2018 with a special ‘Grape’ Air Jordan 5. The shoes are inspired by his character from the show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who would wear laceless Jordan 5s, and released to the public in 2018. For 2023, the brand will celebrate Season 2 of the Bel-Air reboot on Peacock. The end result is the laceless Air Jordan 5 OG ‘Black Metallic’ that is limited to three pairs.
This Air Jordan 5 mimics the original release with Black nubuck across the upper, Red Jumpman on the 3M tongue, and Metallic Silver on the speckled shark teeth on the midsole. Highlighting this pair is that it’s a laceless design, and the traditional eyelets are not punched out. Other details include netting on the panels, embroidered ‘Nike Air’ branding on the heel, and an icy translucent outsole.
There are only three pairs of the Air Jordan 5 ‘Bel-Air’ that was created for season 2 of Bel-Air, which is now airing on Peacock. One of those pairs, in size 12, will be raffled off on March 2nd via NTWRK. To enter, it’s $1 per ticket. The event will run from 9 to 11 PM EST.
