Jordan Brand is doing something new regarding the latest signature shoe. The Air Jordan 40 will combine elements from past signature kicks from Michael Jordan’s line. Typically, we see this on team models. One of the first to debut is the “Stealth” Air Jordan 4023, which fuses design cues from the Air Jordan 23.
Furthermore, the blocking is inspired by the “Stealth” Air Jordan 23, originally released in 2008.
As you can see, this variation of the Air Jordan 40 features a DNA-inspired pattern, with Red stitching just below. The left tongue has the number 23, while the right tongue displays the Jumpman logo. While mostly covered in Black, this pair also features Stealth and Varsity Red details. Additionally, a subtle fingerprint appears on the heels, with Nike Air below it, set against a Chrome backdrop. Even the outsole nods back to the Jordan 23, which has translucent areas with a fingerprint.

Typically, I am not a fan of hybrid Air Jordans, but this pair is different. It takes the technology from the latest shoe while incorporating elements from a previous pair. The “Stealth” Jordan 23 is a classic and would love to see it return, but for now, the Air Jordan 40 iteration will do, and I plan on buying it in December.
