The Air Jordan 4016 “Midnight Navy” will be released on December 26, 2025. This builds on the Air Jordan 40 releases that combine elements from past Air Jordans. A hybrid, the pair combines details from the Air Jordan 16. The retail price is $205.

So far, the Air Jordan 40 has had an impressive run, and it will only get stronger each month. For December, the brand will start launching hybrid versions of the 40, and in this case, we have details from the Air Jordan 16. What’s even better? This Air Jordan 4016 is inspired by the original “Midnight Navy” iteration.

As most know, the inspiration for this model comes from the “Midnight Navy” Air Jordan 16, an original colorway launched in 2001.

The standout feature of this Air Jordan 40 is the removable shroud that covers the upper. Resembling the 16, but the curves have been slightly modified to fit the 40 better. It also comes with an iridescent button, and underneath, there’s velcro and more magnetic buttons for attaching it with 3M reflective details. Additionally, the pair features Midnight Navy patent leather across the toe box, extending to the upper portion of the tongue. The translucent outsole borrows the same design from the Jordan 16.

Another classic sneaker that’s been reinterpreted for modern-day. I really love these hybrids, especially since Jordan Brand used the Air Jordan 16. It brings old fans and new together. Just like with the 4023, I do hope that this means we will eventually see original colorways of the Air Jordan 16 return, but only time will tell.
