Air Jordan 2/3 Chicago Hybrid

Jordan Brand loves creating hybrid models combining Michael Jordan’s signature shoes and designing a new model. For 2023, we have the Jordan MVP and the Jordan Stadium 90 coming. As we look ahead, we have another hybrid that was originally scheduled to launch Holiday 2023 but has now been moved to early 2024. Thanks to Jordan Brand’s VP of Footwear, Gentry Humphrey, we have a first look at the new silhouette, the Air Jordan 2/3.

The brand’s history in hybrids goes back to the mid-2000s, with the release of the Dub Zero and Spiz’ike. Following this, the brand launched the Six Rings, Sixty Plus, and Mars 270. Jordan Brand even summoned Don C to help create a pair known as the Jordan Legacy 312. All the models listed have one thing in common: they use elements from previous Air Jordans.

What makes this pair interesting, it’s not a ‘Frankenstein’ shoe. Meaning multiple parts of Jordan’s are not used. The Air Jordan 2/3 features the upper of the Air Jordan 2 and the midsole from the Air Jordan 3. These two models also create the number 23, another reference to Michael Jordan. In the mid-1980s, Nike made what is now known as the Jordan 1.5, a sample that was never released to the public until 2015. The Jordan 2/3 features a similar theme but is a new creation.

One of the upcoming colorways will come dressed in the classic ‘Chicago’ color scheme. Utilizing White across most of the upper, Red adorns the pipping, liner, inside of the tongue, and around the heel. Other details include a Sail midsole and a Grey rubber outsole.
