Air Jordan 11 Space Jam History
Considered a classic by many, the Jordan 11 “Space Jam” is not an original colorway that was released. While two versions of the shoes were produced in 1996, one featured the number “23” and the other “45.” Michael Jordan wore the “23” version in the film Space Jam, while the “45” pair was worn on-court during the 1994-95 NBA season during the NBA Playoffs.
We would see the first release of the “Space Jam” 11 in the year 2000. This time around, it was different from the original. Key differences include a lower-cut patent leather and Blue on the branding, instead of Concord (Purple).
The second time we would see the sneakers launch was in 2009. Just like the 2000 release, this iteration came with a lower-cut patent leather and Blue detailing. Even though the two differ from the original, many love the Blue hue and the lower-cut patent leather.
The final version released in 2016 celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Space Jam movie. This version came with higher-cut patent leather, like the OG, but featured the number 45 on the heels. What was nice about this release was the special packaging featuring Looney Tunes branding.

I just wanted to clear a couple things up about the 2000 pair it came with a high cut patent leather & little lower ankle height premium leather, blue accents of course.. while 2009 featured a lower cut patent leather like the OG movie pair but a little lower ankle height premium leather, blue accents.
2016 MJ PE Black Concord 11 featured higher cut patent leather, unlike the OG movie pair but had the correct high ankle height premium leather & a stitched 45 but not 23 however the 23 was stitched & not ironed on or however they place it on there instead of stitching & hopefully we get the Stitched 23 to complete the official look of the OG Space Jam 11 movie shoe
