Apparently, the great Nike iD news is not ending with yesterday’s report of the Air Max 1 being up for customization again soon. Apparently, Nike iD also has something especially for the women as well. The Nike Shox NZ has been made available with a slew of colors to be customized by you sporty women out there who, like many others, have chosen the Nike Shox as your workout/training sneaker. But you don’t have to substitute performance for style, as these can even be done up with a patent synthetic leather overlay. Moreover, Nike allows you to customize each individual shoe of a pair. Really- what more can you ask for?

After the turn of the century, the year 2000 also saw the historical inception of what quickly became the iconic Nike Shox BB4. Perhaps helped most by being the high-flying NBA star Vince Carter’s signature shoe, this sneaker’s popularity grew quickly alongside the memorable string of Nike “boing” commercials. Fans of the shoe will be ecstatic to hear that the original Nike Shox BB4 in its Black/Metallic Silver-Lapis colorway will receive retro treatment nine years later.

Released alongside the Nike Shox R4 running shoe, the Nike Shox BB4 marked a revolutionary moment in sneaker technology advancement with the introduction of Shox cushioning and a more lightweight design to a basketball shoe. I, myself, remember searching up and down the streets of Queens, N.Y. in search of a pair of these but to no avail. Ultimately, I ended up settling for the third Nike Shox BB4 colorway that reminds me of this colorway but without the blue accent on the shox heel. This time around, it’s going to be hard to live with myself if I let these pass me by again. Check-in with your local House of Hoops, as these should be coming in anytime now if they haven’t already.

Anyone who knows his/her sneakers will remember the Vince Carter ad campaign that made the original Nike Shox such a coveted basketball sneaker. Well, it should be more than obvious by now that Nike was able to successfully institute the Shox technology seen on VC’s shoe to a running shoe. Now, the most successful version of the Nike Shox running shoe- the R4- shall also have Flywire technology incorporated into it.

The pictured Nike Shox R4 comes in the sleek Nike Shox running design we’re accustomed to, with a white/black/red color combination that’s aesthetically accented by the red flywire strings on the front of the shoe and the black ones on the back. Check out more pictures of this upgraded Nike Shox R4 after the jump- despite it being a tease as a result of not having word yet of a release date.

The Swoosh’s uber-limited Playstation Air Force 1 was highly sought after upon its release a few years ago. With it’s purple/ice blue/sky blue/white gradient color combination and tasteful Sony branding, the product was unlike anything ever released before. (And to this day, the shoe fetches upwards of $2000 on the ‘Bay.)

The folks in Beaverton grew hip to the “PS1″ tones, and applied them to the Nike Shox Monster, a popular model in Nike’s dynamic running division. The shoe is characterized by a black patent rand overlay that rides from the toebox to the heel. But more importantly, the Monster mimicks the PS1 AF1 colorway, as it indeed features the purple/ice blue/sky blue/white combination. I think the Monsters are a horrible shoe, but the calculated gradient toning just makes them sick! Check back here soon for updates, as the Play Sation-inspired Shox will be available at Footlocker sometime in November! Via Sole Collector.
