I grew up wearing Jordan’s before it was a trend. The only person who influenced me to go and buy Jordans was Michael Jordan. People look at me crazy when I explain the vastness of this one man’s influence on the entire population because I compare it to man made religion. Here is the truth that I realized about what was really accomplished by Jordan. Every one was a fan of Michael Jordan. Some may have disliked him because of his confidence but they still was a fan. Every person who was a fan has said they have wanted to be like Mike in one point in their lives, correct? You told yourself naturally that you wanted to be like this man, not him but like him. You saw what a great man could be and he influnced more people to want to be like him than any man made religion has yet to do. Every one doesn’t want to be like Jesus but I bet there are christians that wanted to be like Mike and still do til this day. That is a real life fact that we all are living and are not paying attention to because they made it about shoes. Feel how you want to feel about it it’s the truth and our history is being made into a gimmick. Jordan’s name is worth more than money, he influences people to want to be great at something and he showed you it can be done. The shoes were your motivation. They are turning a culture built on love into a competition and it was never that. We all respected each other and showed it we didn’t want to be better than you how can you when we don’t like the same things? Let’s be serious about something in your life, we started a culture, everyone wants to be sneakerheads because of what we started. If you ever wanted to know what you are capable of in it’s entirety you’ve supported it damn near your whole life just like church members. You naturally chose to praise a man that looks like you. It wasn’t forced on you and told this is the only way. You loved him because he made you feel good about yourself and inspired you to want to have the same influence.
