The Adidas Americana was released in 1971 and was seen on the basketball courts of the ABA. The sneaker itself featured a white upper with red and blue Adidas stripes on the side, the same colors used for the ABA.

Change is good, and this is proven here with the Adidas Americana. In the beginning, the Adidas Americana had a leather toe box and mesh upper, and the models of the mid 70’s had a half-suede and half-shell toe box. The trefoil logo appears on the tongue.
The Adidas Americana was reissued in 2003, with the original ABA color way.
