Converse Japan designed a rather playful low-top One Star sneaker in a Super Mario Bros. theme that could even be a collectible for fans of the video game- regardless of your passion for sneakers. For February, Converse Japan is also dropping a “J Glaze CR” version of the One Star. This version is topped off with a glazed upper that might remind some of you out there of the finish seen on several pottery designs. What do you think about the glazed upper?

Converse came out strong in 2012 with its Year of the Dragon sneaker collection, which included the increasingly popular Jack Purcell silhouette. Now, Converse Japan has re-worked said model into the Boat-Moccasin Slip version pictured here. Perfect for Spring/Summer weather and your next cruise trip, this design coems in all-white and could very well be the laid back look many will be going for when these hit select Converse retailers in March.

We’ve seen Super Mario Bros.-inspired sneaker releases such as the two pairs of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars that released last year. Converse Japan this time applies the Super Mario Bros. theme to the One Star Ox. This pack also comes in a black and a white colorway. Mario and Luigi are pictured on the heel of each colorway, while both also use the Super Mario Bros. “life star” where the Converse One Star usually appears. This pack is set to drop come March of this year.

After bringing you a look at some low-top heat from a collaboration between Vanquish and Converse, we report on some new tinkering that Converse has done to a more classic silhouette. The timeless All Star hi has been reworked into VP Upside-Mono colorways, where extra padding has been added to the ankle area and the star label now comes in a rubber circle that actually matches the predominantly monotone uppers. This version will be offered first in Japan, with black, purple and yellow as your color schemes of choice.

The Jack Purcell was recently prepared in a “hunter camo” colorway that boasts a green/brown upper in a camouflage pattern. For this holiday season, the Converse Japan line once again works on the Jack Purcell- producing two pairs of shoes that make up the Veludo Pack pictured here. One colorway comes in a bordeaux hue, while another comes in all-black and both use velvet fabric. What are your thoughts on these Jack Purcell offerings?

Coverse Japan presents their latest Jack Purcell Moccasin Hi collection for Holiday 2011.

The classic Jack Purcell model is set to come in a black and brown colorway that includes an all-tweed and leather accented upper. The moccasins will also sit atop a white rubber sole and display white contrast stitching with tonal laces for a nice traditional finish to the hybrid boot-like sneaker.

Look for the new Jack Purcell Mocassin Hi to release at select Converse Japan retailers soon.

Duck boots are always popular during the colder months.  Nike has already capitalized on this with their AF1 Duckboot and now Converse looks to follow suit.

The All-Star D-Boots Hi feature a brown suede toebox overlay with paneling details similar to a duckboot.  The upper is comprised of a bright red plaid and contains gold eyelets and rope laces.  Finally, the kicks are finished off with a signature white Converse sole with black and red stripes on the foxing.

These Japan-exclusive kicks will be available at select retailers in November.
