As part of Jordan Brand’s newest installment of the Air Jordan 2.5, the colorway shown above is set to release tomorrow, January 3, 2009. The new year is finally here and sneaker-wise, the future looks promising. With rumors of many Air Jordan releases floating around, Jordan Brand continues doing what they know best—releasing solid basketball sneakers that function well on the court and look great off the court. This Air Jordan 2.5 features a stealth suede upper, graphite cement print, a black midsole, and varsity maize accents. The varsity maize, or better known as yellow, accents are seen across the whole sneaker ranging from the lace holes to the Jumpman Wings logo on the heel and even to the support system under heel which is visible via the clear air bubble. These will be available at your local Air Jordan retailers beginning tomorrow, January 3, 2009, for a retail price of $130.

Jordan Brand has profited heavily off of decimals, as the Beaverton-based Nike subsidiary has combined Michael Jordan’s signature shoes to create updated performance packages. Earlier this month, the company released the 2.5 Mid, a Shelleyian combination of the Air Jordan II and Air Jordan III. Several Jumpman sponsored hoopers have worn the shoe on-court, including Chris Paul, Ray Allen, Gerald Wallace, and Michael Finley. The team white/varsity red/cement grey/black version of the Air Jordan 2.5 is scheduled to release on January 10, 2009, but pairs have arrived on eBay already.

While lining up Air Jordan III (3) inspired colorways to go along with an assortment of other color combinations, the Air Jordan 2.5 has just been spotted in a special Chris Paul Player Exclusive (PE) model at the House of Hoops. This CP3 Air Jordan 2.5 is designed similar to other Chris Paul designed sneakers. The New Orleans Hornets’ white, blue and purple  and stitched Cp3 is paired with the sneakers cement print and traditional Air Jordan II (2) inspired silhouette. Just yesterday a Finishline exclusive model of the Air Jordan 2.5 appeared on the store’s webstore, one other colorway has just been made available with a stronger connection to the Air Jordan III (3). This 2.5 is reminiscent of the classic black, varsity red, cement grey and white model, a combination that has yet to change.
