Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) Wear Test Sample

With versions dedicated to the Minneapolis Lakers, Batman’s heinous villain The Joker, The Black Mamba, and Kobe Bryant’s “Carpe Diem” way of life, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) has achieved fantastic success at retail, despite its suggestively lowtop silhouette. Images of Bryant’s fifth ride, the Zoom Kobe V (5), recently surfaced and it appears as if the crafty folks in Nike’s “BB” division have decided to stick with a low for the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. The shoe incorporates the Swoosh’s Lunarwire technology along the upper and Carbon Fiber spring plate under the arch to mitigate unwanted movement during lateral movements, cuts, and herky jerky crossovers. Let’s hope that KB’s newest model is devoid of Nike’s gimmicky LunarFoam. All Zoom cushioning, please.

  1. I definitely can't say, but the final version, looks a million times better…thats a waaay early version. Unforunately the foam stays. Zoom in the heel only. But the upper is incredible. If it was possible to be any lighter that the previous shoe…it happened.

  2. These look like tennis shoes, not basketball shoes. And this whole thing with Kobe wearing "low" shoes is marketing crap – he still has his ankles taped up super tight, which does far more for support than any high sneaker. So it's crap.

  3. The collar around the ankle kinda reminds me of the Air Jordan XIV. I can't wait to see the finished product in some nice Lakers colorways.

  4. the point of having the lowtop is to have it more light weight, so the shoe accomplished its duty? if kobe wants low top, he gets lowtop

  5. I think it's flywire, not lunarwire or whatever you said… I don't think using lunar as wires would be supportive. I think these look amazing and can't wait for these to come out.

  6. WHAT'S IS UP WITH THE PROTRUDING PIECE IN THE FORE FOOT? IT MAKE THE SHOE LOOK A BIT FRONT HEAVY AND A LITTLE TOO WIDE IN THE FRONT.

BUT THATS JUST ME…I JUST WANT TO SEE AND FEEL HOW THEY PERFORM. WHAT I REALLY LIKE ABOUT THIS SHOE IS THAT IT LOOKS MORE NARROW THAN THE 4'S. IF THESE KOBE'S CAN BE AS NARROW AS THE HYPER DUNKS AND WEIGH AS MUCH IF NOT LIGHTER THAN THE IV'S I WOULD SURELY GET THESE STRICTLY FOR PERFORMANCE.

  7. One word to describe these…..UGLY, I don't care if it's a sample or final product. Wouldn't drop a 5 spot for these. IV's are much nicer
