Nike Zoom Kobe IV Carpe Diem - Now Available

Now that Kobe Bryant himself has started rocking the Nike Zoom Kobe IV on court, many are in anticipation of when these low-top sneakers will hit retailers near them. If you are one of these people, then today we will bring you a pleasant surprise. Eastbay has started taking orders for the “Carpe Diem” colorway of the ZKIV and will start shipping out beginning on January 17, 2009. It is a bit unusual for Eastbay to put a sneaker on their site that they are not ready to ship out fairly quickly, but this might be a pleasant surpise for those wanting to reserve their pair right now.

Low-top models are starting to emerge more and more as time goes on and most NBA players agree that the cut of the sneaker does not alter the chances of one’s ankles to be rolled, tweaked, or broken. Nike enhances the Zoom Kobe IV’s low-cut finish with flywire technology and LunarLite foam which help add support while minimizing weight. To top all that off, Nike has included their patented Zoom Air unit under the heel to give the user an even better basketball experience. Though we have heard that Nike Zoom Kobe IV is lighter in weight than its high-top counterpart, the Nike Hyperunk, Eastbay has it listed at 15.0 oz., 2.1 ounces heavier than the Hyperdunk. It could just be a simple mistake and we will surely keep you updated on it. Thanks to John Lyon for the heads up.

  2. love these shoes. this is by far the best colorway. i have seen in these. i already bought my pair on ebay. i paid $10 more than retail but whatever they'll be here in just a couple days! can't wait to get em!!! best kobe's ever

  3. I'm pretty sure these are about 12oz it must be a typo with eastbay nike usually makes the kobe's lighter each year

  4. i gots two questions i want to axe yall.

    1. I just bought these kicks through the link provided…how much money does sneakerfiles get from eaastbay?

    2. As one can see from teh NIKE ID online they have the choice of nubuck, sythetic leather, and teh reptile shit for teh sneaker..don't those different materials weigh different amounts? and what type of material is on these carpe diems?

  5. To saul: I think the material used is a synthetic material the material

choices on nikeid are limited editions you can probly google the flywire technology to get a more detail list of what its made of probly similar to the hypwerdunks and lunar

  6. On the NIKE IDs you get teh option of getting the vamp (or the top of the shoe)in nubuck, or synthetic….you can get the heel and tip (the back (where teh numbers are) and teh front of the shoe) in synthetic, nubuck, or the reptile shit. They both (heel/tip)have to be the same material….it looks like these carpe diems have the reptile shit in teh vamp, and the heel, and the sythetic in the tip.

btw, i imagine nubuck is the heaviest as it is a tough leather..and teh synthetic is probably the lighest.

  7. Shoe only looks good cuz it has the lakers colors and "kobe" in it.

other then that. shoe is ugly.

  8. i wonder y the white/purple and wht/blk/yellow colorway have patent leather all over the vamp and, tip and heel and the carpe diems don't.

  9. Just got my carpe diems. The best shoe I have ever bought. So light and great looking can't wait to try them out on the court. I heard they fit narrow so I was worried but, they fit perfectly and are true to size so dont worry they are great shoes.
