Hella Jongerius for Maharam x Nike Air Force 1

Textile manufacturer Maharam recently partnered up with Nike to produce a limited version of the Nike Air Force 1 (One). The shoe was created to commemorate the Swoosh’s 25th Anniversary for the AF1, and is marked by Hella Jongerius’s “Layers” design. Specifically, the shoe incorporates subdued grey, red, and blue tones along the upper that’s offset by a beautiful blaze orange stitch pattern. The Hella Jongerius for Maharam x Nike Air Force 1 will hit retailers later this week and will be officially launched at an invitation-only event at Moss on May 1, 2009. Via Weekly Drop and Ltd. 1. Interesting and informative content.

I just wanted to share some piece of information for those looking out to buy exercise shoes. It’s very important to shop for the right shoes without being carried away by the mirrors, lights, great displays and other such luring factors where you often tend to forget the comfort of the shoe.

Make sure you wear thick socks or those that you often wear for exercising so that you get the right size shoe. Another interesting point to notice is that our feet tend to swell a bit in the evening so buying shoes during evening is the ideal time as this will help you buy the shoe for the maximum foot size. Most important of all is don’t go by the pricing of the shoes while buying them. A high price does not always mean top quality. The price tends to be higher since the shoes are endorsed by reputed personalities. Buy your shoes based on the frequency of usage. If you are in a regular exercise routine, then you can consider extending your budget.

  2. I have a pair, and trust me photos do them no justice. In person the look of the layers and felt is just eye candy F@#*ing delicious and with only 500 made they are limited and soon to be gone. The felt, Im not even going to get into that. Check them out in person at the moss store if you can, they might even have a pair left you can try on.
