From Nike, Beat-Up Chic

This has got to be one of the weirdest sneaker concepts I have heard to date. let me elaborate: Are you one of those people in fear of wearing a new pair of Nike’s because you do not want to get them dirty? Well basically this Nike Beat-Up Chic collection is for you. Each pair will already look intentionally distressed meaning yellowed midsole, faded colors to make the shoes look already used. They will release next week at Comme des Garçons and selling for a whopping $220. In July, another series will release at $120 and will be available at Barneys New York, Urban Outfitters and Scoop. 1. Who would anybody pay that much money for those? Who the hell wants beat up sneakers. But at least you can wear them as much as you want and they will look like they did when you bought them.

  2. some food for the (hype)beasts. i love some of the older-style nikes (give me DS internationalists in 10.5 and i'll love you), but jacking the price for them pre-bashed is toolish. we the consumers have another, much cheaper name for authentic sneakers that come pre-beat: B-Grades.

  3. Nike is playing you fools. At this point they know cats will buy damn near anything with a swoosh on it and they're laughing all the way to the bank.

  4. i swear to god i just thought about this concept like last week while at work…price is a bit crazy though

  5. couldnt you just buy these shoes for liek 75 then use them outside in the dirt and stuff wopudlnt that b easier than paying 220?

  6. these must be meant for the preppy crowd. that likes dingy hats and george micheal 5 0'clock shadows!!!

  7. I wouldnt even pay 2 bills to a REAL beat-up chic…just to beat her up some more, yah dig? seriously looks like they dig those from some grave. disqusting.
