Lately, Vans has been reaching into its extensive archives for inspiration and the occasional re-issue. Earlier this summer, we previewed the Fall 2009 collection known as the “Off The Wall Pack,” which is an impressive package of re-issues from some of the company’s earliest sneakers. The pack includes  Slip-Ons, Eras, Old Skool ’77s and Mid Skool ’77s in suede/canvas combos and vibrant colorways that were popular back in the day, such as the Classic Blue/Gold Slip-Ons, Gold/Green Old Skools, and Blue/White Mid Skools. No detail was left out, including a retro treatment on the box design – as you can see. Of course, all of the sneakers feature the Vans patented waffle soles. Vans is providing quite the line up for this year’s Fall 2009 collection. On top of the handful of CA 46 colorways we mentioned yesterday, come fall they plan on releasing a set of Chukka Lows,  kin to the familiar Vans Chukka Boot. Using a relatively simple color pallet, Vans continues to build on their reputation of providing that comfortably classic feel in a variety of different packages.  In particular, the navy and white horizontal stripe colorway brings something out of me — and I don’t just mean my wallet.

Hawaii’s In4mation recently linked with Vans to work on their second collaborative shoe, a new version of the Chukka Low. The shoe features a black canvas upper with varsity red detailing and a vulcanized gum midsole. White laces tie everything together and a houndstooth lining covers the Chukka’s innards. The In4Mation x Vans Chukka Low is set to release in November ‘09.

New York streetwear brand Acapulco Brand recently linked with Vans to produce the Moda Hi. The Moda is a fusion of two Vans models, the Sk8-Hi and Mountain Edition. A vulcanized midsole rides underneath, while the upper features a combination suede, patent leather, green leather, and mesh. Acapulco’s logo is stitched behind the shoelaces. A midfoot support strap adds stability to the Moda. The Vans x Acapulco Gold Moda Hi will be available in March 2010.

Vans continues to release fresh new colorways of classic models, but this time around, the sneaker will be released with a twist. For their Fall 2009 collection, Vans is updating their Slip-On model with a quilted pattern on the toe box that gives the sneaker a fresh and sleek new look. The Vans Slip-On will release in six colorways: black, yellow, green, red, blue, and white. All six sneakers yield a clean white mid-sole and a tonal upper. Expect to see the Vans Slip-On Quilted Pack at your local Vans retailers in early Fall ‘09.

Vans is celebrating the Holidays ‘09 season by implementing their timeless checkerboard motif on one of the their most classic silhouettes, the Vans Era. The shoe’s royal blue/yellow canvas upper is complimented seamlessly by a blue suede toe. A vulcanized midsole with blue accents rides underneath. White eyelets and yellow shoestrings tie the shoe together. The Vans Era “Checkerboard” will be available later this year at select Vans accounts.

Jermaine Rogers, one of the leaders in the field of modern rock poster art, recently teamed up Vans to create a new colorway for the Vans Calar and the Calar Mid. The Calar hosts a black upper with green inner lining, a green sole, and orange piping, while the Calar Mid features a black upper with a green ankle, green piping, an orange inner tongue, and a green sole. Both sneakers yield Jermain Rogers’ artwork on the sole, tongue tag, and heel. The Vans x Jermain Rogers Pack is expected to release in the Fall of 2009.
