After previewing for you a series of Mountain Edition releases from Vans, we are now here to show you a collection that has released with some inspiration, perhaps, drawn from the farm. Pictured here is a pair of the Vans Slip-On and Sk8 Hi done up in a brown and white colorway. But what is perhaps worthy of more notice is the fact that the entire upper of both sneakers is made of cow hair material. This pack has begun to release from certain Vans retailers, so check-in with your preferred local spot to see if they do or plan to have these in stock.

Not too long ago we saw the adidas Originals line draw from the rich African heritage and design a set of sneakers sure to remind many people of the different cultures on that continent. Now, it is Vans searching for cultural influence. The pair of Vans Slip-On’s and Sk8 Hi’s pictured here are part of a “Mexican Blanket” collection reportedly dropping during the 2009 holiday season at certain Vans retailers. The same pattern that envelopes this pair of Slip-On’s can be seen on the middle and back of the Sk8 Hi’s, leaving more room towards the front for a purple suede upper with red shoe laces. Check in with several Vans retailers as different ones have already begun to receive this collection and are ready for sale.

Vans is known to experiment with collaborations, as it did with Hellz Bellz. But now we bring you information regarding a Vans collabo with Robert Crumb- a well known American illustrator. The results include a pair of Sk8 Hi’s with a white base & black drawings, as well as a pair of colorful Slip On’s that come with feline drawings. Vans is putting together quite a collection for release this fall of 2009. Aside from the Herringbone Pack anticipated by many, we are now receiving word from our friends at Weekly Drop that a collection of Slip-On’s referred to as the “Mega Check” Pack will include pairs in solid, vibrant colors including red, purple, and green with what appears a large checkered pattern by the heel of every shoe. Lately, Vans has been reaching into its extensive archives for inspiration and the occasional re-issue. Earlier this summer, we previewed the Fall 2009 collection known as the “Off The Wall Pack,” which is an impressive package of re-issues from some of the company’s earliest sneakers. The pack includes  Slip-Ons, Eras, Old Skool ’77s and Mid Skool ’77s in suede/canvas combos and vibrant colorways that were popular back in the day, such as the Classic Blue/Gold Slip-Ons, Gold/Green Old Skools, and Blue/White Mid Skools. No detail was left out, including a retro treatment on the box design – as you can see. Of course, all of the sneakers feature the Vans patented waffle soles. The Vans “Off the Wall” Fall 2009 Collection features new versions of the Vans Era and Vans Slip-On. Classic color schemes and materials such as green canvas/yellow suede, sky blue canvas/blue suede and brown canvas/cardinal suede pepper the pack.
