The folks over at Vans have dropped a handful of new colorways of their classic Vans Authentic, starting the month off with a bang. Featuring bright neon uppers, the pack includes models in Blue, Yellow, and Orange, all of which utilize some well placed detail work in their colored midsole stripes and white eyelets. Simple yet effective, you can find all three models at select Vans retailers now.

With all of the hype surrounding and efforts put into releases like the “White Label Edition” Half Cab Pro’s, it’s pretty impressive how the Vans team seems to never lose track of all of its duties. In celebration of what is the brand’s 27th annual Triple Crown of Surfing event- which kicks off this November at Hawaii’s North Shore- Vans has teamed up with world renowned artist Taka Hayashi to come up with the pair of Authentic’s we’re showing you here. Drawing inspiration from the Hawaiian venue, this pair of sneakers comes in a black canvas upper that consists also of a reef-like pattern. The water is represented on the bottom of the shoe, which comes in all-blue; and inside the shoe there is an orange and white pattern with the words “Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Hawaii” spelled out. A predominantly white sole with orange label on the heel and complementary second pair of laces in orange tops this very sleek collaborative sneaker design. Check with your local Vans retailers as these have started to become available online.

Renown artist/illustrator Robert Crumb just recently was tied to the Vans Collection thanks to his work on a pair of Sk8 Hi’s and Slip On’s. But there was nothing to indicate that his influence on the Vans brand would end there- in fact, we now have reason to believe the opposite. Robert Crumb put his style to work once again, this time using the timeless “Authentic” Vans silhouette and keeping the all-white sole while mixing in a sky blue one piece upper that consists of his “keep on trucking” illustrations. This shoe might be popping up at your very own local Vans Vault accounts, if it hasn’t already.

We already told you that the Vans Chukka will be getting special fleece treatment to help keep you warm during the holiday season. We now have a couple of more classic models to show you that’ll also be a part of Vans’ Fall 2009 collection. Highlighted by the grey suede Era pictured here, the release will also include wool grey, blue, and yellow Authentic’s, as well as a blue and a red 106. Which one of these is atop your list? A large part of the success experienced by the Vans brand stems from the number of different models this comfortable shoe line has brought into creation. This August, Vans is welcoming the beginning of summer’s end with two colorways on two refreshed pair of favorites: the Sk8 Hi and the Authentic Lo Pro.

The first colorway is officially made up of “parachute purple” with white accents and the second of “chilli pepper” with white accents. Of particular interest with this release is what resembles crocodile/snake skin on both shoe models. As often is the case, these colorways and models are going to be “hate it or love it” for many. Straight from the Spring 2010 Vault collection, pictures of two inventive models of the Authentic have made their way onto the web. Class meets classic as the timeless sneaker appears to feature an all leather upper under standard white laces. In both Brown and Violet, the colorways bring a subtle element of formality I’ve never seen from any other leather Vans model. Slated to release in February of next year, I can’t wait to see more pictures.
