The Nike Big Nike High was made famous by the larger-than-life 7’7″ Manute Bol, who wore the high-performance shoe back in the 1980′s. As so often happens in our remixed and reissued culture, the Big Nike is set to hit retailers later this year in a bevy of original and lifestyle color schemes. The shoe is defined by a predominantly white upper and cement print heel panel. With a prominent Swoosh and forefoot support piece, the Nike Zoom LeBron VI Low is the latest high-performance entrant from Nike Basketball’s signature division. The model is defined by a single line of stitching that runs between the reinforced upper and chunky midsole. Cushioning is provided via a full-length Zoom Air bag that’s double stacked in the heel for added impact protection and comfort. This white/black/red pair, along with several other unique ‘Bron inspired color schemes are expected to hit sometime in July. Via NikeTalk.

Nike reissued a bevy of classic ’70s and 1980′s running models in 2008 to wide acclaim. The brand’s campaign featured the Daybreak, Cortez, Air Elite, and an assemblage of lesser-known joggers. The Swoosh has extended their “Vintage Running” lineup into 2009 with the LVD, a meshy affair that’s accentued by faux-suede and a waffle-iron outsole. Nike’s ’07 Air Force 25 Campaign was a dud. Sure, the white jumpsuits, commercial, and Just Blaze beat/Juelz rhymes were hot, but the general product was…umm…not hot justified, particularly at a $150 pricepoint. Fact of the matter is, consumers weren’t paying that much for a product with zero casual appeal, and bulky technology. But when in-store releases fail, I often turn to player exclusives–and that’s exactly what I’ve done here. Uber-athletic Golden State forward Al Harrington sported this buttery smooth pair of blue patent/yellow patent AF25′s on court for the ’07 campaign. Couple that with Al’s “AH32″ logo creatively applied to the ankle latch, and you’ve got a winner. Purchase this pair from a former Golden State equipment room manager here. Crafted by Nike Basketball Senior Designer Leo Chang the Nike Bluechip is among the team-oriented options available for the ’08-’09 hoops season. The model has been released in a bevy of color schemes suitable for any high school, but now, we’re beginning to see player exclusive joints drops at Footlocker’s monopolized House of Hoops.

More particularly, the Bluechip will be available in a Caron Butler white/royal blue copper iteration, along with a black/powder blue/yellow version for Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay.
