The latest sneaker to receive the Safari treatment from the designers over at Nike is the Terminator Low. Featuring a multicolored upper highlighted by a mint and blue safari print, blue laces, and a brown toecap, this sneaker is definitely not made for everyone. This pair’s color scheme is very similar to a Nike Air Max 1 which recently released and is part of the larger Nike Sportswear Spring 2009 Collection. The blue inner lining, teal swoosh, and the teal heel definitely add the needed aspects to make this pair special. Nike is prepared to release a white/Italy blue version of the Terminator Hi in the coming weeks. The premium leather shoe is accented by a canvas heel collar and metallic midfoot Swoosh. The Nike Terminator High is being decked out in denim for this 2009 release, but not just any low quality denim. This Terminator High features high quality “true” Selvage Denim and multicolored stitching on the upper. Nike has used denim on sneakers before such as the Nike Dunk SB Low Medicom II (2) Black Denim, but this is the first time it is featured on the Nike Terminator High. Nike has gone all out with the denim theme on this sneaker by including a copper rivet on the heel and a leather tag on the tongue which are both essential parts of every pair of denim jeans. This colorway also features navy blue leather on the toecap and on the lower heel of the sneaker. Another interesting aspect of this pair is the white brand tag on the upper heel of this sneaker that reads, “NSW”, which is an abbreviation of Nike Sportswear. A plethora of Nike Terminators have appeared with several of them releasing in the near future, here’s a preview of the Spring 2009 line. 2009 will see both men’s and women’s styles in high and low styles. Nike utilizes a strong palette of colors with eclectic materials and designs. Last week, we showed you the Nike Safari Air Max 1 which is now available at select Nike Sportswear acounts and we now have pictures of a Nike Safari Terminator High. We are hearing rumors that these two releases are part of a larger Nike Safari Print Pack which will include many other sneaker models such as the Nike Dunk High Premium featured yesterday. This pair shown above yields an upper composed of many shades of gray precisely like that of the aforementioned Air Max 1. Also featuring a black swoosh and a cream midsole, this colorway is a bit out there and is not made for everyone. This pair leaves us wondering what other sneakers will make up this new Nike Safari Print Pack we are hearing of and also leaves us hoping that the others will be a little more toned down than this pair. Nike Japan’s Play Hard campaign will be made up of the Terminator High and Terminator Low in “basic” color-ways consisting of black, red, blue, purple and pink. Each model showcases NIKE written in big block letters across the heel as the Terminator has been doing for numerous years. White will act as the base and black adds contrast to a few of the models. Additional images have yet to surface, but in the meantime check out the campaign’s page to see musicians modeling the Terminators.
