We recently showcased the “Redman” adidas Superstar II, and we now have another colorway of a classic adidas sneaker to share. The silhouette of this pair is the same as the aforementioned Redman-inspired model, but the colors are quite different. Inspired by rapper Method Man, this Superstar II yields a blue soft leather and suede upper accented by a white midsole, bright blue laces, white toebox, brown inner lining, and three bright blue stripes. The “Method Man” adidas Superstar II is now available at select adidas retailers.

Redman, born as Reginald “Reggie” Noble, is an iconic figure in the American rap scene, and adidas has decided to honor the rap legend with his own colorway of the Superstar II. This colorway hosts a red suede upper accented by an orange midsole stripe, three black stripes, a white toebox, black inner lining, and a white midsole. A couple other key aspects of this Superstar II include the image of Redman on the tongue, Redman inscribed into the heel, as well as “Funk Doc” on the rear. The “Redman” adidas Superstar II is now available at select retailers.

adidas recently teamed up with the folks at XLarge, a Los Angeles based clothing store, to create this new colorway of the Originals Superstar. This pair hosts a multicolored upper composed of a purple snakeskin rear, a green snakeskin frontal panel, a cream mid-sole, and a cream toe box. The most interesting aspects of this sneaker are definitely the laces which have “XLarge Getting No Respect Since ‘91″ printed onto them. The XLarge x adidas Originals Superstar is expected to release in the Fall of 2009, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.

Although we might be preparing for the summer heat, adidas has been thinking differently by releasing the adidas Wool Pack. The Wool Pack consists of three of its models: the Superstar, Samba, and Forum Mid. All three shoes use a wool material upper to keep your feet warm. The Superstar has a speckled white sole and gum sole, and the other shoes have white midsoles to match their white leather panels. The blue and red gradient straps on the Forum Mid give this pack some retro flair. These are great releases so be on the lookout.

The 1980’s proved to be some of the most monumental years ever in adidas history. During the 80’s, the adidas Stan Smith, the adidas Superstar, and the adidas Campus all remained popular sneakers and it’s hard to believe that now, more than 20 years later, all three models are still going hard. In this pack, the Superstar features an upper composed of elegant maroon snakeskin. The second pair is the Stan Smith which yields a simple black on black colorway with a white midsole. The final pair of this pack, the adidas Campus, features a beige upper composed of snakeskin, suede, and a clean white midsole. One of the newest creations coming from adidas is their Stripes Pack which places two classics side by side in a revamped fashion. Pictured above is the adidas Superstar designed using a white, red and blue colorway with a full stripped upper and also found on the interior of the sneaker. The second model released in the Stripes Pack is the Stan Smith created in a green and grey color scheme. The Stan Smith follows the Superstar closely and both include a blue eyelet near the tongue. The 1980s was defined by the fall of the Berlin Wall, the ascent of good hip-hop, and the prevalence of questionable fashion and dubious rock music. Michael Jackson was “Beating It” and fashion-first sneakerheads were adidas-ed down. The ’80s proved to be a crucial decade for The Brand With Three Stripes, as the adidas Stan Smith, Superstar, and Campus all remained popular cornerstones on store shelves and on peeps feet. To properly celebrate the period, the brand is releasing the aforementioned models in the exact materials and colorways they released in nearly 30 years (Yikes!) ago in the aptly named “adidas 80’s Pack.” Expect to see the shoes at your favorite adidas retailer soon.
