It’s great to see that a campaign as worthwhile as the 1HUND(RED) struggle against AIDS in Africa is garnering the backing it deserves. Most recently, the HUF team joined the effort with a pair of “Skidgrip’s.” Now, we see that Staple Design has joined the effort and played its role in the production of the black/red/white pair of Sea Star’s pictured here. The upper comes in black suede with red accents in places like the inner lining and a predominantly white sole. Yet another great way to get involved in the fight to save lives in Africa, this pair of Sea Star’s will go on sale starting Thursday October 8, 2009, exclusively from Reed Space in New York City.

Staple Design’s latest installment continues with another anticipated release under the pigeon moniker. Set to release the “White Pigeon” New Balance 575 on August 18th, the white pigeon is strikingly similar to the last New Balance 575 pigeon, but the dark grey is now replaces with an off white. Also note that like other staple design releases expect these to be limited to 1000 so mark the date on your calender if you’re planning on getting a pair.

We last saw the first collaboration between Airwalk and Staple (STPL) with the Star Trek x Stpl x Airwalk Terrain. This time around, the Airwalk Terrain has a more normal look in a brown colorway. The shoe has a brown leather upper along with a black midsole and brown outsole to set the rugged earth tone. The colors are offset by subtle red accents on the laces and Stpl logo tags. This shoe and other colorways of the Terrain are set to release at Payless Shoes for a mere $50 a pair to help out the sensible skater in this tough economy.

With Nike and New Balance already under his belt, Jeff Staple gives Converse the “Pigeon” treatment. At first glance, this Converse sneaker has a modified Vans Chukka feel. The sneaker is made up of a light grey upper, dark grey piping and pink on the side laces. Jeff Staple also adds the signature Pigeon icon on the tongue as well as his logo at the side and heel. As you may know, the Staple x New Balance 575 released on August 6th, 2008. Alongside the sneaker, Staple also designed a series of New Era Pigeon 59Fifty fitted hats. Made up of 5 color-ways, the fitteds are available in black, white, green, blue and purple/grey. Each hat will be highlighted by the original pigeon logo. Now available at the Reed Space.
