It’s been few and far between the times Diesel makes any worthy noise in the sneaker game. But, perhaps it has discovered how to help themselves- by teaming up with the adidas Originals clan. Known for its more orthodox sneaker designs, adidas Originals lends its expertise to that of the Diesel group’s, resulting in a special edition Forum mid, Stan Smith and ZX 700 (to name a few). London fashion brand maharishi partnered up with adidas to create a limited version of the Stan Smith that’s scheduled to hit retail this Fall. The shoe offers a denim-colored fabric color with navy blue and white accents. maharishi’s emblems are stitched onto the tennis shoe’s tongue and heel. White shoe laces and multicolored accents provide visual pop, creating a shoe that’s subtle and perfect for casual dress. The maharishi x adidas Stan Smith will be available later in the ’09. The 1980′s proved to be some of the most monumental years ever in adidas history. During the 80′s, the adidas Stan Smith, the adidas Superstar, and the adidas Campus all remained popular sneakers and it’s hard to believe that now, more than 20 years later, all three models are still going hard. In this pack, the Superstar features an upper composed of elegant maroon snakeskin. The second pair is the Stan Smith which yields a simple black on black colorway with a white midsole. The final pair of this pack, the adidas Campus, features a beige upper composed of snakeskin, suede, and a clean white midsole. By the way, we would suggest anyone with ophidiophobia (a fear of snakes) to keep away from this pack. Via hb.

adidas is celebrating “60 Years of Soles and Stripes” with the Decade Pack, a multi-pair release that features standout models and silhouettes from the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s. More specifically, the Football LEA (1950′s), All Round V (1960′s), SL ’72 (1970′s), Stan Smith (1980′s), and Torsion Bank Shot (1990′s) will hit the adidas Originals store in SoHo in the coming weeks. One of the newest creations coming from adidas is their Stripes Pack which places two classics side by side in a revamped fashion. Pictured above is the adidas Superstar designed using a white, red and blue colorway with a full stripped upper and also found on the interior of the sneaker. The second model released in the Stripes Pack is the Stan Smith created in a green and grey color scheme. The Stan Smith follows the Superstar closely and both include a blue eyelet near the tongue. Now available at adidas retailers including DQM. 

The 1980s was defined by the fall of the Berlin Wall, the ascent of good hip-hop, and the prevalence of questionable fashion and dubious rock music. Michael Jackson was “Beating It” and fashion-first sneakerheads were adidas-ed down. The ’80s proved to be a crucial decade for The Brand With Three Stripes, as the adidas Stan Smith, Superstar, and Campus all remained popular cornerstones on store shelves and on peeps feet. To properly celebrate the period, the brand is releasing the aforementioned models in the exact materials and colorways they released in nearly 30 years (Yikes!) ago in the aptly named “adidas 80′s Pack.” Expect to see the shoes at your favorite adidas retailer soon.
