Refusing to be outdone by the star Chicago native, Spike Lee rocked some red kicks of his own last night as he suffered through a Knicks loss courtside last night.

Wearing a Lawrence Taylor jersey, the director rocked a fresh pair of “Metallic Red” Foamposites, something many of us undoubtedly hope to be doing after tomorrow’s drop.

On hand for a New York City fundraiser, Spike Lee presented President Barack Obama with a special gift last night.

The Pres received a special box set of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike, complete with an engraved wooden box sporting the Seal of the President of the United States alongside a “23″. Spike even took to twitter to show of the kicks and the special packaging.

Look for these to release to the general public, sans package, next month.

Another installment of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike is hitting retailers in the first quarter 2012 with the ‘Carolina’ coloway.

As previewed before, this make-up features an all University Blue upper in combinations of premium leather and nubuck, with hints of deep yellow/orange. Reminds us alot of the DTRT IIIs. Let us know if you’re picking these up next year or is you’re grabbing your pair early from Marquee Sole.

Those in the NYC area listen up: Jordan Brand has another special event planned for you this weekend.

As reported earlier today, Spike Lee will be on hand Saturday at FootAction to autograph the brand new “NY Knicks” Spiz’ikes.  However, beginning tomorrow, Jordan Brand will have eight pairs of Spike Lee-autographed Spiz’ikes and eight pairs of Carmelo Anthony-signed Melo M8s at eight different NYC locations.  All you have to do is follow @Jumpman23 on twitter for clues on where the shoes will be.  The first person to find the Jordan Brand representative at the spot (they’ll be wearing a Melo jersey and headband) will win BOTH pairs of autographed kicks, each in a limited edition box.

A couple weeks ago, we previewed the newest instalment of the Air Jordan hybrid line, the Jordan Son of Mars. Another ‘Spike Lee Joint’ brings us the fusion between the Air Jordan III, V, VI, and XX, which starts it’s launch in 2 colorways next Summer.
