The NBA All Star Weekend kicked off last night with the Rookie Challenge and today, the Haier Shooting Stars, Play Station Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest all took place. The day was quite action packed with the underdog, Daequan Cook, winning the Three Point Contest while Derrick Rose won the Play Station Skills Challenge, and Team Detroit finished first in the Haier Shooting Stars. Sneaker wise, the day was also quite action packed with interesting sneaker choices from athletes including Michael Cooper rocking the Nike Think Pink – Hyperdunk and Dwight Howard rocking a Superman player exclusive colorway of the adidas TS Bounce Commander.

Reebok has been dishing out packs left and right as of late including the Reebok x Chapter World – Juggernaut Pack which was featured yesterday. Now, we get a first look at a Super Heroes Pack which is composed of two pairs of the Reebok Sir Jam Mid. Though the pack is supposedly inspired by super heroes, the inspiration behind each pair is not quite evident. Whatever the case may be, the first Sir Jam Mid of this pack yields a black leather base with yellow, green, and red accents. The second pair has a little more subtle colorway of a white upper with grey and orange accents. A stateside release is still under question, but you can cop your pair today at Mita.

Tomorrow, February 14, 2009, will mark the beginning of one of the biggest sneaker release weekends of 2009. With the Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) making its first nationwide debut along with two pairs of the Air Jordan I (1) Retro High releasing, your pockets might feel a little lighter after this weekend. Though the AJ 2009 was initially hated on by the majority of sneakerheads, many have changed their opinions on it after understanding the technology and inspiration behind the pair. The two Air Jordan 1 Retro Highs that are set to release are the Max Orange colorway and the Pewter colorway. The Pewter AJ1 has been slept on by most and online pictures truly do not do this pair justice. The Max Orange colorway was initially referred to as the infrared AJ1, but after new information was revealed, it was quite obvious that infrared is not included on this pair. Pictures via RPS.

With the Air Jordan Fusion VI (6) – White/Infrared-Black releasing tomorrow, we are now getting our first look at the Electric Lime colorway of the AJF6. Featuring a white leather upper with a black nubuck rear and electric lime stitching, this pair’s colorway is definitely one of the more interesting ones of Jordan Brand’s newest fusion model. The Air Jordan Fusion VI (6) made its first appearance last month and was highly accepted by sneakerheads worldwide. The Nike Air Penny III (3) – Black / Black – Varsity Royal released at the end of last year and it is now time for the white based colorway of the classic Air Penny III to release. Featuring a white leather base with blue and black accents seen on the midsole, upper, and inner lining, this pair is extremely reminiscent of the Orlando Magic’s home jerseys. Also coming with the Air Penny logo and a subtle white swoosh on the heel, the classic sneaker is brought back in ‘09, and if this pair is a sign of what is come, the future looks quite promising. Vans have consistently been designing the hottest and most unique sneakers as of late, and this pack yields no exception. Vans have called upon anything they can think of including stripes, snakeskin, Nike Dunks, and their obsession with a check pattern for inspiration. With this pack, the popular California sneaker brand has employed a fairly simple colorway onto three pairs of the Vans Authentic. The three pairs feature tonal uppers composed of colors including green, blue, and orange. All three color schemes come with a white midsole and a mini check pattern on the inner lining. Last year, we gave you a detailed look at the Air Jordan Six Rings – Seattle Supersonics, and we are now getting a first look at the two pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low Phat that are set to release with the aforementioned AJ Six Rings. Featuring a home colorway and an away colorway, Jordan Brand has essentially created two completely different colorways. The home colorway yields a white upper with a green midsole, gold outsole, and black accents. The away colorway has a black leather base with a white swoosh, a white outsole, and gold accents. Expect both pairs, alongside the “Supersonics” Air Jordan Six Rings, to release on March 14, 2009.
