Fat Joe has a new pair of signature sneakers called The Blackout. Joe’s Brand is produced by Protege, which specializes in producing high-quality sneakers at affordable prices. The Blackout will drop in November, and will be available in two colorways. The shoes will be sold exclusively at K-Mart and Sears at $34.99 a clip. Fat Joe’s First signature sneakers named “The Recession” are now available at K-Mart and Sears, and also retail for $34.99. Our readers who bought the recession shoes have been pleased with the design and comfort. In April, Nike launched the 2009 Future Sole Design Competition. High school students between the ages of 14-19 interested in footwear design enter their renderings into one of two categories: Nike or Jordan. The grand prize winner of the competition will receive $7,000 in supplies and software, and will also be greeted with a round-trip flight to “The Beav” to meet and talk kicks with Nike’s in-house creators. Registration will end on June 1st, so prospective entrants, get your work in!
After entering the competition, we encourage you to become a part of the Sneaker Files x 2009 Future Sole Side Competition. To join, enter a tagged rendering of your design (Yes, your design MUST BE TAGGED!) following this format: SNEAKERFILES.COM x “Your Tag”. Next, upload your work to Photobucket. The guys over at Shoe York have released images of a very rare Air Jordan XX3 Wear Test Sample. The Air Jordan XX3 is the last Air Jordan in the numbered series, and therefore is very monumental. The process of making that sneaker took some time, and we have images of an early version. Many features are almost identical to the retail version, such as the midsole and the heel flap.
