Maison Martin Margiela is back with another pair of hot high top sneakers. Check out the Ankle Sneaker from their Fall/Winter 09 line. The cut out design combines leather and patent and the rubber gum sole give the shoe a retro, cool feel. The contrast of the all black colorway and the white laces really make these sneakers pop. Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut, Los Angeles Clippers center Marcus Camby is a defensive stalwart and discerning sneaker aficionado. Camby is part of a distinguished Umass alumnus which includes a trend-setting Julius Erving and the inspiring Bill Cosby. While playing for the school, ‘MC’ amassed several coveted awards; including First Team All-American, the John R. Wooden Award, and Naismith College Player of the Year. Moving along to the NBA, Camby was the second-overall NBA Draft pick in 1996 and took home the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award in 2007. Camby was kind enough to take a time-out, and talk shoes with Sneaker Files Co-Owner Steve Kluback.

Protege recently added Fat Joe to their list of sponsorships, and are set to unveil this model later in the year for a retail price of $34.99. We showed you a preview of Fat Joe’s first signature sneaker, The Recession, back in March, and we now have a look at his second model. This pair hosts a nubuck upper accented by a patent leather strap, a perforated toebox, a white mid-sole, and several red accents. Summer Jam sighting: Jay-Z rocks Nike RT1-Black and Red colorway. Does Jay know the RT1 is his nemesis Jim Jones’ favorite sneaker? Not likely. But if Jay bothered to check out Sneaker Files interview with Jim Jones, is all about his RT1’s. Jim Jones was spotted in these sneakers earlier this spring.  We blogged about the Nike RT1 several months ago. The shoes have some similar traits to the Air Yeezy, without the multiple colors (more classic and clean).

TOMS Shoes has launched their second TOMS Vagabond Tour which stretches over the U.S and will be touring at five different regions. The Dave Matthews Band (DMB) will be joining TOMS and fourteen individuals who are called TOMS Vagabonds. Dave Matthews Band will be providing the official soundtrack for the tour and together they are “inspiring compassion in action on campuses nation-wide!” The event will be wrapped with a Style Your Sole bringing friends and students to buy and customize TOMS.
