Nike has plans to bring back Penny Hardaway’s crispy second signature, the Nike Air Penny II (2), in White/Atlantic Blue on July 25. The shoe is a testament to ultra-creative mid-’90s design and remains as popular (if not more) as it was when it dropped back in Anfernee’s playing days in Orlando. According to Ty from Leaders, the shoe will hit as a limited quickstrike. The Nike Air Penny II (2) Atlantic Blue will hit select Swoosh retailers on July 25 as a limited quickstrike.

The Nike Air Penny III (3) – Black / Black – Varsity Royal released at the end of last year and it is now time for the white based colorway of the classic Air Penny III to release. Featuring a white leather base with blue and black accents seen on the midsole, upper, and inner lining, this pair is extremely reminiscent of the Orlando Magic’s home jerseys. Also coming with the Air Penny logo and a subtle white swoosh on the heel, the classic sneaker is brought back in ‘09, and if this pair is a sign of what is come, the future looks quite promising. Though we are only embarking on the second month of 2009, we are already seeing previews of sneakers that are set to release in Fall of this year. It seems as though Nike has been doing their research as of late and has finally figured out what it is that the sneakerheads truly want. Ranging from the Total Orange colorway of the Nike Air Trainer SC all the way to the “Medicine Ball” Nike Air Trainer III, we will definitely be seeing our fair share of original Nike colorways in this upcoming year. To contrast with these OG colorways, Nike will also be releasing a new Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid colorway and several womens Safari Air Max 1s. Many Nike Air Penny II (2) colorways have released over the past few months and the newest one to come out is this colorway inspired by the Miami Heat. As many may remember, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway played with the Miami Heat in his final season in the NBA and this colorway obviously takes inspiration from the Heat’s black and red color combo. Featuring a black base with red and white accents, this pair yields a nice and clean colorway. The Nike Air Penny II (2) retains its original shape and lace size to give it that classic feel.
