Vans’ classic silhouette, the Vans Sk8 Hi, has been decked out in patent leather for a new tonal collection. Featuring models in red, black, yellow, and purple, the pack is tied together with white midsoles, contrast stitching, and matching midsole stripes. All four colorways are available now from select Vans retailers like Invincible.

The Bapesta has been one of A Bathing Ape’s most successful sneaker silhouettes to date; so it makes sense that the brand pay it much due attention. If you recall, the Bapesta recently received a checkered touch to match a series of accessories the brand also just recently dropped. Now, we see two pairs of the Bapesta pictured here using a technique and material that helped the Bapesta become so famous- patent leather. The first pair comes in a common black/grey/white colorway, while the second sports white and different shades of pink. Both of these patent leather pairs of the Bapesta have been made available thanks to select retailers worldwide.

Alessandro Dell’Acqua is another fashion designer to capitalize on the demand for luxe sneakers.  His spring 2009 collection includes a line of high and low tops.  Like Lanvin and YSL, Alessandro Dell’Acqua keeps the design style of the sneaker classic and uses embellishments (patent leather, velcro straps and hardware) to make the shoe pop.  The white leather and Vernice Blue patent shown above comes in other variations including nylon and patent leather. As a part of Nike’s “Refresh” regime, Nike is releasing the Nike Zoom Hustle, which is a “refreshed” version of the Nike Hyperflight. This black colorway shoe has the same technology as the Hyperflight’s, but with a re-vamped design. The shoe uses an all-black patent leather upper with a black sole to give that black on black look. The tongue reads “FRESH” with visual emphasis on the letters “RE” to accentuate the “Refresh” line. These are set to drop fall 2009 so be on the lookout at Footlocker when October or November come around.
