Game 1 of the 2009 NBA Finals was quite anticlimactic with the Los Angeles Lakers winning by 25 points; however, Game 2 proved to be a completely different story. The Orlando Magic rookie, Courtney Lee, missed an alley-oop attempt with 0.6 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime. There, Kobe Bryant and company took over, and ended up winning Game 2 with a final score of 101-96. Though the game progressed at a relatively slow speed, it was nonetheless a great show of basketball talent and fancy footwear. Some of the sneakers on show in Game 2 included the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4), adidas TS Lightspeed, Nike Hyperdunk, Nike Foamposite Lite, adidas TS Commander LT, Nike Huarache ‘09, and the adidas Fly By. Earlier today, Kobe Bryant and his fellow Los Angeles Lakers came to Quicken Loans Arena to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though Kobe Bryant was reported to be ill and needed intravenous fluids at halftime, his Lakers pulled through with a 101-91 victory with notable performances from Odom and Gasol. Though the game was exciting, the true excitement was brought while sneakerheads compared the two supertars’ sneaker choices. Lebron James showed up with a new Fairfax Nike Zoom Lebron VI (6), while Kobe started the game with the Carpe Diem Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) and switched to the Venom KBIV at the quarter break. Even though Bryant’s sneaker switch is quite an interesting topic, most sneakerheads stared in awe at what James was rocking. This is our first look at the Fairfax colorway of the Zoom Lebron VI and it looks quite promising.

Chris Paul is definitely emerging into one of the best point guards to currently play in the NBA. Going along with his success on the courts, he has experienced much success in the footwear department as well. Jordan Brand has been hooking up their athlete with some real heat as of late and this On Court article yields no exception. On January 26, 2009, the Hornets took on the Philadelphia 76ers when CP3 rocked a player exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan Six Rings. Two games later, Chris Paul stepped onto the courts and surprised fans by actually rocking his own sneaker, the Air Jordan CP3 II. Paul has been known to wear the newest AJ models, but as the release date of his own signature sneaker nears, expect to see Paul rocking the CP3 II more often. Lebron James had a quiet night on the stat sheet for his standards, but did manage a win as hosts to the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday while debuting their second Hardwood Classics jersey of the season. In addition, Lebron also laced up in a new pair of the Nike Zoom Lebron VI (6) to match their throwback jersey which was originally dubbed Superman for its white, red, blue and yellow color scheme. However, you may recall Lebron sporting another Hardwood Classics Zoom Lebron VI last year and looked more close to their current jerseys. Both Hardwood Classics Zoom Lebron VIs are scheduled to hit select Nike retailers in the next few weeks.

For NBA fans, Christmas Day is always important due to the quality of games held on the day. The NBA purposely faces off some of the best teams in the league to create interesting matchups that keep fans glued to their seats on one of the biggest holidays of the year. After debuting the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) “Venom” in his last game, Kobe Bryant is back at it again and is rocking a new colorway of the Nike ZKIV this time. This colorway seems to be extremely similar to the Carpe Diem colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV which is set to drop on January 17th, 2009. On another note, Kobe Bryant has seen much personal success while rocking his new low-top sneaker which is exhibited by the 41 points Kobe dropped against the Orlando Magic last night.
