Originally released in 1997 and rocked by Jason Kidd, the Nike Zoom Uptempo V is dropping once again this Summer.

Seen here in white/navy-red, this looks like the perfect colorway to drop before the 2012 Summer Olympic Games get underway in London. Sporting a white leather upper and navy and red accents throughout, the kicks are finished off with a semi-translucent red sole.

Take a look at the kicks and expect a drop in the months ahead.

While we know that the Nike Air More Uptempo will be included in such releases as the Nike USA Olympic Basketball pack, there is apparently more uptempo business to attend to. Pictured here is the Nike Zoom Uptempo V in a black/pink colorway with patent leather overlays that really help the sharp pink pop out at you even more. A transluscent sole is an added touch of flavor, as is the bit of metal along the midsole. This interesting colorway is reported to be dropping as a limited release- perhaps as limited as being available only to Asian markets. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

We’ve seen a preview of the Nike Zoom Uptempo V in a metallic silver/white and orange colorway, that has yet to confirm a US release. While we’re waiting on information on that, images of a new colorway recently surfaced, reminiscent of the LA Lakers.

This Nike Zoom Uptempo V features an all white leather base, purple sock liner and midsole, with yellow accents to rep that ‘Purp’ ‘N Yellow’ that’s remained popular for years. With the Uptempo series blowing up in the Retro category with the upcoming Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 and the more recent Nike Air Max Uptempo 97, it’s only natural that we would see another sneaker of something similar being released on shelves. The Nike Zoom Uptempo V, formerly known as Jason Kidd’s Nike Zoom Flight V, has been Retro’d in it’s OG colorway before. But in light of the recent championship ring on his finger, comes the Uptempo V in a brand new colorway. Hitting Asian markets all over comes the shoe in the white and metallic silver upper, orange accents and splashes of black. Staying try to it’s OG shape comes the silver midfoot support on the midsole. No word on when and if there is a definite US release date, but stay tuned as information rolls in!

Nike Basketball is doin’ it big with the release of the Nike Zoom Uptempo V Premium in a black/varsity royal-white-green colorway. Too bad this pair is only an Asian exclusive, because this is definitely a hot colorway. The shoe has a black leather upper and white midsole to go along with a varsity royal outsole. The swoosh is outlined near the back heel and “Nike Zoom” makes its mark in stitching on the tongue. These babies are going for $125-$135 depending on size, and are available now online as a July release. Get ‘em while they’re hot!
