Nike once again drops some “vintage” flavor on us. Of course, it is by now well documented that the Nike team worked to produce the popular Nike Dunk AC Vintage pack that sports aged-looking soles on each pair. Today, it’s a retro running shoe from Nike that returns in all its OG glory. The Nike Air Venture Vintage pictured here comes in a smooth grey upper consisting of suede and mesh material. Blue accents come by way of the Nike swoosh, while green ones are seen mostly towards the heel of the shoe. What is of perhaps more important note is that most of the sole on this design also comes in a discolored hue that gives it as retro a feel as the era from which this Nike running shoe comes. Continuing with vintage Tennis Classic releases, Nike will be releasing their Nike Tennis Classic in a Vintage Green colorway. The Tennis Classic features an all white upper with green accents and a perforated swoosh. The laces also feature subtle green accents which bring together the vintage feel of a very classic Nike sneaker.

Nike reissued a bevy of classic ’70s and 1980′s running models in 2008 to wide acclaim. The brand’s campaign featured the Daybreak, Cortez, Air Elite, and an assemblage of lesser-known joggers. The Swoosh has extended their “Vintage Running” lineup into 2009 with the LVD, a meshy affair that’s accentued by faux-suede and a waffle-iron outsole. Nike Night Track

Before Nike enamored audiences worldwide with technologies incorporating encapsulated Air and forefoot support pillars, the brand rock-chalked the nation with some of that ol’ disco flavor. Yeah, that’s right—Nike—Phil Knight, Tinker, Will Perdue, Cynthia Cooper, and everyone else that might’ve mattered. In 1978, at the apex of discoing, the brand released the lucid Night Track. Aimed at New York City’s uber-exclusive “Jet Set” crowd that frequented club Studio 54, the shoe was distinguished by glitter…and well, more glitter!

Toned up in a brazen silver/red color scheme, the Track was characterized by a nylon upper and glitter-laden Fornica outsole that provided grip for any type of dance nicety. The shoe’s middle panel is engulfed by the signature check, which in turn is plastered with glitter. It appears that the people who sported the ‘Track weren’t about letting their, “Dance speak for themselves.” As righteously herb-esque as the Night Track is, few wearable pairs exist today. (Most succumbed to the daily wear-and-tear brough upon by Moonwalking.) What this means is that if you come across a pair, expect to pay a bunch! Images via ebay and Sneakerset.
