The highly anticipated, first-ever Nike Sportswear store in Chicago has finally opened its doors to the public. AKIN celebrated its grand opening on Saturday with raffles, giveaways, performances, live music and a Nike Sportswear Spring 2010 fashion show. AKIN also introduced its own brand and launched several independent brands like Potential Villain, Kiks TYO, Wrong Wroks and Royal Mindset. During the opening, there were several past releases that caught people by surprise. One of the eye-catchers was the World Cup AF1 Pack in full size runs and older patent leather Air Force 1’s that released in April 2006. Not only does AKIN cater to the Nike Head, but they also pay attention to the Jordan Head with box prices for just about every release that has been in demand these past few years. AKIN also carries Converse, Puma, Adidas, Countdown Packs, limited Quickstrikes, and other heat you may have missed - all for retail. They most likely will have your size, but call and check first. Enough with the talk though, this is a place you will have to check out for yourself.

The Nike Sportswear division recently unveiled this floral print Nike Big Nike. The shoe features a violet purple base accented by a vivid pink outsole and ankle collar. The Swoosh is white and the strings are pink, too. It’s safe to assume that these Big Nikes are a petite feet ladies only exclusive. A vintage-inspired floral print decorates the shoe’s premium leather overlays. Little is know about the Nike Sportswear Big Nike “Floral”, but we’ll be sure to update when more conclusive information comes to light.

After seeing Nike SB’s new tee’s for the month of June, it’s Nike Sportswear’s turn to release some fresh clothing for its dedicated fans. To honor its American retail store in NYC, Nike Sportswear has released four tee’s exclusively at 21 Mercer Street.  The first two tees of the pack are presented in heather grey/black and New York Knick blue/orange. Both tees feature “21″ in large bold print on the front to show the world who’s being repped. The latter two tees rock an old school Nike box print on the front on black and white bases. All these items of clothing rock the 21 Mercer logo on the back neck and are available now at the Soho store.

You’re looking at a small view of the new Canarinho Nike Sportswear Pop-Up Store in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The store is located within the Gallery of Rock, downtown Brazil’s mecca of alternative culture. This new store gets its name from the bird that the Brazilian soccer athletes were given during the World Cup. As with other pop-up stores, plenty of local artists have their art featured, along with plenty of exclusive items only found in that location. A few of those items would include Nike Sportswear tees, Blazers, Dunk Lows, and other sneakers. In the colorful country of Brazil, a store of this nature only seems proper. Last week, we provided a preview from the Nike media event for the Nike Air Trainer 1. The on-field trainer features a sculpted outsole and Air Max cushioning to maximize performance. Vikings backfield stud Adrian Peterson was rewarded with his very own pair. Predictably, the shoe’s toned in black/purple/yellow/white hues, colors that match up with ‘Sota’s regalia. AP’s pair features a predominantly nubuck upper with patent leather accents. The Nike Air Trainer 1 “Adrian Peterson” will be on Adrian’s feet this Fall, let’s hope they hit retail shelves, too. After seeing the Nike Sportswear x Lance Armstrong Stages Collection, Nike Sportswear has unleashed a full press release of the Livestrong x Nike Sportswear Air Max Collection. The Livestrong collection comes in the form of the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max 180. All three shoes use leather uppers. The AM1 has a black leather upper and yellow speckled black midsole which is offset by a yellow sole to match the yellow panels throughout the shoe. The AM90 has a grey leather upper with a yellow swoosh and white mesh panels to contrast its white speckled midsole and black sole.
