While 2010 has a couple of eye-catching and head-turning releases in store, such as the Vandal Hi Nylon sneakers, news of more classic releases is surfacing. Both Nike Carnivores pictured here are tentatively releasing next summer, meaning the shoe will be retroed for the first time since they came out seventeen years ago in 1993. The first shoe pictured sports a black/purple/sea blue colorway, while the second consists of a black/red/brown colorway. How many of you out there will at least try a pair of these on? Avid fans of Nike running shoes got a real treat when in 2009 the Nike Air Pegasus 89 re-released in a number of colorways. This time around, Nike is back at it with a fresh, new color combination applied to this popular shoe. Besides the greatly popular purple and grey accents, these Air Pegasus 89’s feature an attention-grabbing pattern near the ankle and heel that seemingly consists of a letter-jumbling that spells out N-I-K-E A-I-R. Thanks to Georgia’s StandardATL, these can be copped now- but I wouldn’t suggest sleeping on this release that’s finally starting to pop up at select retailers.

It’s no secret that sneakerhead circles everywhere often place a large emphasis on continuity and adherence to a proven model when pondering what the next purchase is going to be.  A brand’s fan base often fluctuates in response to decisions such as whether or not to use the same material on a future retro version of an already popular and well-sold shoe.  But we can always trust Nike to dare and make several of those kinds of decisions on a daily basis.

Japanese fashion brand Swagger recently collaborated with Nike to produce two distinctively unique versions of the Nike Terminator Hi. The pair was created in celebration of Swagger’s 10th Anniversary and is inspired by mint flavoring and dark chocolate. Both pairs are loaded down with a faux crocodile print upper, and though each shoe differs when hue is taken into consideration, they will be sold together as one pair! The Swagger x Nike Terminator Hi Supreme will retail this weekend at Swagger’s flagship store. Due to their popularity, there’s rumors that the shoe will hit the States for $140 a pop.

Elements from each of Nike’s classic mid-90s Air Tech Challenge line have been tastefully combined to create the ATC Hybrid. The white-based version of the tennis fusion scored big at retailers earlier this year, and I’m certain that this resonant “Black” variation will meet the same fate. The reissue features a black toebox and lilac outsole, but the splatter motif and tribal patterning on the upper bring the shoe together. Expect to see the Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid “Black” hit retailers early this Summer.
