Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will take on the New York Knicks tomorrow, January 4, 2009. For that game, Lebron is breaking out a new colorway of his signature sneaker, the Nike Zoom Lebron VI. We previewed this “Taxi Cab” colorway of the ZLVI a while ago and we now have detailed pictures and information to share. This colorway is inspired by the average taxi cabs in New York which residents see on a daily basis. Featuring a black perforated leather upper with yellow patent leather accents and a metallic swoosh, this pair nicely imitates the typical taxi cab’s color scheme.

The Nike Zoom Lebron VI has definitely become one of the most popular sneakers as of late. The most likely cause of all this attention towards Lebron’s newest sneaker is definitely related to the fact that Nike has been releasing a plethora of colorways of the ZLVI—some dope, while others subpar. Whether Nike will or will not continue this trend is still in question, but the dopeness of this colorway is definitely not. One of the best colorways to be made available to the public, the Chalk Nike Zoom Lebron VI is inspired by Lebron’s pre-game ritual of rubbing chalk on his hands and throwing the excess chalk into the air. Though this pair was thought to be an extremely limited release a couple months, it is now available on Eastbay and might even hit other retailers soon.

Most of they hype around the Nike Zoom Lebron VI has lately been focused on recent pictures of the Los Angeles colorway of the ZLVI, and the Miami colorway has not been given much attention. Now, we are hearing that the Miami colorway shown above will be released in extremely limited quantities tomorrow, December 31, 2008. The Nike Lebron Line is ending the year with a bang and is set to only release 23 pairs of this sneaker. Featuring a white upper accented by black patent leather on the front and orange and turquoise seen around the rest of the sneaker, this colorway is a little lighter and more subtle than some of the more popular colorways of the Nike Zoom Lebron VI. As previously mentioned only 23 pairs of this sneaker will be available tomorrow, December 31, 2008, at the Niketown in Miami, Florida for a retail price of $160. Via The305.

The Nike Lebron Line is known for yielding many interesting colorways of Lebron James’ signature sneakers. During the past few weeks, we were enlightened by pictures of a “Chalk” Nike Zoom Lebron VI and a Nike Zoom Soldier II inspired by the Ohio State Buckeyes. We now have a picture of a Nike Zoom Soldier II inspired by the popular Coca-Cola owned soda brand, Sprite. Featuring a bubble filled blue upper accented by a green outsole and yellow stitching, this pair accomplishes its goal by leaving all our mouths watering for a bottle of Sprite. Some may remember that a couple years ago, there was also a Nike Zoom Lebron III Low “Sprite” which featured a colorway exactly like that of the Nike Zoom Soldier II shown above. If you have seen any of the Cleveland Cavaliers games this season, you have most likely noticed Lebron James coming to the scorer’s table before the game begins and performing his pre-game ritual of rubbing chalk on his hands and throwing the excess chalk into the air. The chalk is meant to give players added grip on their hands and it is used by most players in the NBA, though not in the same way as Lebron James. Inspired by James’ unusual pre-game ritual, Nike has decided to design a colorway of the Nike Zoom Lebron VI commemorating the ritual. Featuring a navy blue patent leather toebox and canvas upper, a “hardwood” colored midsole, and a silhouette of Lebron James throwing chalk into the air on the tongue, this sneaker combines the Cleveland Cavalier’s team colors with Lebron’s unique pre-game ritual to yield an interesting colorway of Lebron’s newest sneaker, the Nike Zoom Lebron VI. A couple months ago, we featured a preview on this pair of the Nike Zoom Lebron Ambassador which  features a colorway very similar to that of Lebron James’ NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Nike Lebron Line has yielded many interesting and complex sneakers as of late and this pair is a well needed change. With it’s simple design and colorway, this sneaker is focused more towards the on court experience rather than being too aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. To make up for this simplicity, Nike has included Nike Zoom technology and a fully padded inner to provide a comfortable basketball experience. With all the controversy surrounding Lebron James, a new colorway of his sixth Nike Zoom Lebron may give people something else to talk about. This latest model is supported by a neutral combination of black and anthracite. Black takes up most of the space of the sneaker with areas of anthracite putting a spin on the traditional black on black design.
