I bet you’re wondering, “Another Cassette Playa x Nike collabo?” Nope, this is the final version of the Cassette Playa x Nike Dunk High Premium, as part of a Rivals pack. The black upper stays the same, along with translucent swoosh and white contrast stitching. The difference is the design, as well as the bright orange outsole and midsole. This version is much quieter than its predecessor, with a single blue teeth design on the toebox, and the same logo on the tongue tag. The shoe comes with three pairs of laces to mix and match with. These are available early now overseas, but it’s a good idea to wait til these make a general release.

With El Dia De Los Muertos around the corner on November 2nd, Nike is releasing another Day of the Dead commemorative shoe. The Nike Dunk High Premium is one of a three pack consisting of the Dunk Hi, Nike Air Max 90 and Nike Dunk Low. The Dunk Hi features a dark tone, which is executed by a black leather upper, black midsole, and purple outsole. The upper also features black panels with iconic Mexican characters in purple. These panels are contrasted by orange stitching, as well as a green swoosh and inner lining. The insole also pays homage to El Dia with its skeletal graphic design. As a quickstrike, these are limited in quantities, but we’ll keep you updated with a release date and more info on the DOTD pack.

Pictures of two interesting colorways of the Nike Dunk High Premium surfaced this week, giving sneakerheads another reason to anticipate the new year. Featuring gradient tie-dye-like panels, the model is set to release in both Eggplant and Yellow/Blue/Brown. Against an otherwise plain upper, the patterning proves to be quite the spectacle, creating the illusion of a shiny or metallic fabric. Look forward to more information about the release as we get closer to the start of 2010.

Once the prototypical shoe of the sneaker world, the Nike Dunk High model has seen a bit of the back burner this year, receiving far fewer new colorways than in years past. Perhaps the pool of possible color combinations is simply drying up — if you’re wondering why they look so familiar, the front of the shoe features a toe/tongue virtually identical to that of the Goldenrod/Iowa colorway. The White midpanel and Total Orange heel do mix things up a little bit, the latter of which is accented with some faux-quilting similar to what we saw earlier this month, but I’m still not too excited about them. If they tickle your fancy, you can order a pair from Caliroots.com for a reasonable $150.

Nike’s Sportswear collection for next year has already started to make it stores with this Dunk High Premium the most recent arrival. Slated to release as apart of the Spring/Summer ‘09 line, this Dunk High Premium is composed of a black upper with safari print, white mid and outersole, red laces and multicolored tongue label. This isn’t the only safari themed sneaker releasing next year, Nike also has lined up the Air Max 1 and others to feature the unmistakable design. The Dunk High Premium is now available at colette.

Earlier in the year, Nike and New York’s own Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM) teamed up to release a trio of Blazers, but they are back at it again with the sneaker of choice being the Nike Dunk High for the project. The Dunk High’s consist of a solid colored upper upper that is adorned in perforated suede which matches the mid-sole and out-sole.
