Player Exclusive Rewind: Penny Hardaways Nike Zoom BB

With its expansive toebox, minimalist upper and righteously placed heel collar, the ’07 Nike Zoom BB proved to be a legendary canvas for special make-ups. (I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the colorists in Beaverton!) From a personal standpoint, one of my favorites from the line was the away scheme crafted up for Anfernee Hardaway of the Miami Heat. Sure, he might’ve been the oldest guy on the court, but he came correct with this BB that’s highlighted by a lucid patent red toebox, yellow stitching reinforcements, and his “1 Cent” logo along the heel. The model is finished off with a lavish black leather upper and white/red Swoosh. Somewhere I hear Lil’ Penny calling! Via abt of ISS.

Nike Hyperdunk - Varsity Royal | Black | Fall 2008

Aside from creating Player Exclusive (PE) Nike Hyperdunk’s, Nike offers a wide range of styles to the public including their latest design consisting of varsity royal and black. Aside from a simple combination of varsity royal and black, a darker blue can be found on the side of the Hyperdunk adding a nice contrast to the light blue seen on the laces, sole, etc. This Hyperdunk and one other Fall 2008 model can be now purchased at Finishline.

Will the Nike S.T.A.T. Low Release Stateside

As a confessed low top addict, I often live by my own lame, self-invented, “I’m a lowtop man in a hightop world,” statement. On the market today, hot lows are all too often a can’t-find, as most ballplayers opt for the supposed benefits of ankle coverage. Over the weekend, Hong Kong ‘heads reported that Amare Stoudemire’s first signature ride, the Nike S.T.A.T. One, (An Alphaproject production) released in a low form! Distinguished by an uber-sleek white/neon green color scheme, the model’s dynamic upper is comprised mostly of patent leather, with a downwards-canted Swoosh wrapping round the heel. A sticky, multi-directional herringbone outsole should provide stellar traction on all varieties of courts. Just one question remains however—when are these releasing stateside? Via abt of Iss.

Nike Richard Jefferson Air Max Bizness PE Player Exclusive SMU

It appears as if Wausau, Wisconsin-based Eastbay has tapped into Nike’s Special Make-Up division, as they are now carrying two player exclusive models of the Nike Air Max Bizness. More specifically, the company now has the white/deep forest/red version created for Bucks wingman Richard Jefferson and black/varsity royal/orange colorway for Knickerbockers forward Zach Randolph available for pre-order. From a technological standpoint, the Bizness is chock full of sensory goodies—underfoot, the shoe incorporates a full-length Phylon midsole, that when coupled with a Max Air-Sole out back and Zoom Air in the forefoot, provides prodigious cushioning and maximum durability. Both pairs are available now at Eastbay.com for $99.

Rewind: Nike Ultraflight Gary Payton PE

When the inventive heads in Nike’s vaunted Innovation Kitchen drafted up the Air Zoom Ultraflight after the Porsche 911, hoopers the world over hoped the shoe would perform like the luxurious car handled. And while I argue that ‘Flight’s on-court merits were suspect at best, (The plastic plate out back proved to be too inflexible, translating to substandard fit.) there’s no denying that Thermo-Plastic heel cup and Air-Sole unit underfoot provided a compelling package. Swoosh-sponsored players such as Gary Payton and Sam Cassel wore the shoe as they battled on the hardwood night after night. Here’s a look at the aforementioned Glove’s version, colored up in an incredibly awesome dual-tone fade of green and yellow from his Seattle Supersonics days. His number, 20, is inscribed along the upper. What do you guys think of these? Via: Sneakher of NT
