Nike Basketball’s 2009 lineup continues to build upon its success in focusing on sneakers that provide good traction and support while minimizing weight. The Nike Zoom MVP X will serve as 2 Time NBA MVP Steve Nash’s game shoes during the 2nd half of the 2008-2009 season. Featuring a black upper with a white toe box, this colorway has a classic look remixed with red accents and a unique Nash logo. This shoe combines the lightness and comfort from Nike’s “Free” series with the great designs of its highly successful Basketball line; consequently, many guards sponsored by Nike Basketball have taken a liking to this shoe and will most likely be donning it later this season. Nike Air Max Spot Up – Dirk Nowitzki’s Signature Shoe

After years of being one of the elite power forwards in the NBA, it’s about time Dirk Nowitzki has his own signature Nike sneaker. The Nike Air Max Spot up obviously gets its name from Dirk Nowitzki’s amazing ability to spot up anywhere on the court and drain the shot. Featuring a visible Nike Air Max unit under the heel, this pair will surely yield a comfortable basketball experience and maybe even give you some of Dirk Nowitzki’s amazing abilities. Though very similar to the Nike Zoom BB1, the Nike Air Max Spot Up seems to be more oriented towards providing a sneaker that can give the comfort and support needed to be a beast on the courts. There are two colorways of the Nike Air Max Spot Up which are black/gray and white/black/ varsity red. Detailed pictures of both colorways can be seen after the jump. Expect these to drop in Spring 2009. Via kiDulty.

Player Exclusive Rewind: Al Harrington’s Nike Air Force 25 Mid

Nike’s ‘07 Air Force 25 Campaign was a dud. Sure, the white jumpsuits, commercial, and Just Blaze beat/Juelz rhymes were hot, but the general product was…umm…not hot justified, particularly at a $150 pricepoint. Fact of the matter is, consumers weren’t paying that much for a product with zero casual appeal, and bulky technology. But when in-store releases fail, I often turn to player exclusives–and that’s exactly what I’ve done here. Uber-athletic Golden State forward Al Harrington sported this buttery smooth pair of blue patent/yellow patent AF25’s on court for the ‘07 campaign. Couple that with Al’s “AH32″ logo creatively applied to the ankle latch, and you’ve got a winner. Purchase this pair from a former Golden State equipment room manager here. (He/she will put them back up eventually!)

Insole Art: Nike “All American” Hyperdunk

The quality’s in the details. (Something I still wish the Momdukes would’ve told me when growing up…) The aforementioned adage can ostensibly be applied to any number or range of topics, including footwear. Nike recently took the advertising reigns to McDonald’s High School All-Star Game and quickly decided to draft up at Micky D’s Hyperdunk (A MCD Bluechip will also be available–more on that soon!)that would even keep Eric Schlosser content. The black/red/blue/yellow color scheme is straight up suspect, but the insole is undoubtedly phat. Ronald McDonald’s heart attack inducing fries spell out “All American.” The “All-American” food for the All-American Game. Wonderful. Via RANDZ4937 of ISS.
