While Nike has chosen the timeless Nike Air Force 1 as its silhouette of choice for celebrating this “Year of the Rabbit,” that is by no means the only classic Nike designs we’ll be seeing this year. In fact, Nike has also prepared at least two colorways of the Nike Air Trainer 1 classic for what is rumored to be a Europe only release. Those colorways are the black with volt and the white with grey and royal blue color combinations. Unless you’re willing to test your luck, you might want to jump on these via an overseas anbd trusted online retailer as soon as you’ve spotted them.

Yu Darvish, a Japanese pitching phenom who is considered to be one of the best pitchers in all of  Japanese professional baseball, recently had a Nike Air Trainer 1 made for him. His edition of the sneaker hosts a silver upper accented by a white toebox, black/white midsole, black laces, and a blue midpanel. A few other key aspects of this Air Trainer 1 include alternating swoosh colors, the number 11 on the inside of the tongue, and the words, “FANS ARE FAMILY!!!” on the rear of the sneakers. There is no word on any release information for this Air Trainer 1, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.

The Air Trainer 1 was one of the Nike silhouettes to receive more-than-average attention thanks to pairs prepared for the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Troy Polamalu, and Tiger Woods. The silhouette hasn’t slowed down a heartbeat since the end of 2009, as 2010 has seen Nike already reveal pairs designed for Manny Ramirez and the Texas Longhorns. Now the Air Trainer 1 designed by Nike in collaboration with the Livestrong campaign has been made available for purchase in adult sizes online through FinishLine for approximately $85. It sports a predominantly white upper with the traditional Livestrong yellow and black. Now those sneakerheads who wanted to see the Nike Air Trainer 1 done-up in the Livestrong colors have an opportunity to actually purchase said sneaker.

Nike just loves giving out player exclusive trainers to those athletes who deserve them. The next on the list is Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez. His Nike Air Trainer 1 PE sports the classic dodger blue colorway against a white synthetic leather upper. Dodger blue is placed at the nubuck toebox to match the blue flywire panel and midsole. The classic LA logo is placed at the back to rep Ramirez’s team. Be sure to catch Manny rocking these Trainers whether he’s on tv or right in front of you at Dodgers stadium.

If you’re an undefeated football team in the NCAA, then of course Nike is going to hook your team up with player exclusives. The Nike Air Trainer 1 PE comes correct for the Texas Longhorns, who fit the deserving criteria. The Trainer 1 sports the university’s colors of white and orange; a white leather base and orange flywire panel. The Longhorns emblem is placed at the back heel, along with “WE ARE TEXAS” printed on the back of the orange sole. Be sure to lookout for these Trainers when the Longhorns are practicing; other than that, let’s see if they can stay undefeated this season.

Sole Collector really “knows” what’s up with Nike, especially with their last collaboration for the Nike Air Trainer 1. This time, Nike Training created a special “All Sport” sample of the Nike Air Trainer 1 for friends and family. This “what the dunk” style Trainer takes elements of a few popular sports and infuses them into different panels. This white base shoe features a wide array of materials to represent each activity, finishing off the shoe with a white midsole and red outsole. See if you can guess what sports are represented on this shoe, because if you guess them all correctly, you qualify for Sole’s contest to win a “Sole Knows” t-shirt. The Nike Air Trainer 1 seems to have found a niche among athletes of all different sports. After generating so much noise in the boxing world, Manny Pacquiao, for example, was one such athlete Nike focused on with the release of not only one, but two Nike Air Trainer 1 designs- the “Lights Out” and the “Under the Hood.” But as Nike does so well, it has once again reworked a proven silhouette, this time making the Nike Air Trainer 1 low SL pictured here in three colorways to be even lighter than its predecessor.
