2012 will bring back a bunch of colorways of the Nike Air Safari 87. One more pair you can add to the lineup is dubbed “Infrared”.

Just hitting eBay, the Nike Air Safari 87 Infrared uses black leather, nubuck around the toe box and heel, snow camo on the sole and infrared on the toe box, liner and Nike branding on the tongue.

If you want to purchase your size, you will have to wait till Fall 2012, or buy the size 9 sample now from dballaholic on eBay

Back in the end of October we came across and showed you a pair of the Nike Air Safari 87 retro that was found on eBay and apparently a part of the Spike Lee Nike releases of 2009. Now we are able to tell you that Nike will in fact be releasing this pair of shoes some time later this month from select Nike retailers. With the Spike Lee glasses on the shoe’s tongue, yellow contrast stitching, and, of course, the safari print, this Nike Air Safari 87 Retro could very well be the Spike Lee release least like the others. However, that does not mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that they will be less liked. In fact, what are your thoughts on the retroing of this shoe in this colorway and execution? In September we brought you word of two possible Nike Air Safari ’87 retro releases slated for the 2009 holiday season. And, as we always promise and love doing, we can now follow-up on that news and relate to our fans and readers that a pair of the Nike Air Safari ’87 will indeed be retroed in a black/orange/safari print colorway and release on December 1. Moreover, there is a neon yellow stitching along parts of the upper that now accompanies the shoe and adds a subtle twist to the classic silhouette. Spike Lee has a nice longstanding collaboration with Nike and Jordan Brand, having had a pack of shoes released to commemorate the acclaimed director and avid New York Knicks fan. Today, we have a look at what could be or what never will be: a Nike Air Safari 87 Spike Lee Sample. This Air Safari 87 sample features a black and red leather upper with the classic safari print at the toe and heel. The iconic glasses logo, symbolic of Mr. Lee, is donned at the tongue tag in red. This size 9 sample is on sale now on eBay for a fair price considering its sample status.
