Nike Air Pegasus '89 - Berlin

Finally, Nike has released a detailed look of the Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 Berlin edition. The Berlin Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 celebrates twenty years of Berlin’s culture. The Pegasus ‘89 is the perfect shoe for the occasion, given the collapse of the Berlin Wall twenty years ago. The shoe uses a mixed colorway including black, grey, purple, and white, utilizing suede, leather, mesh, and even a speckled swoosh. “Berlin 89″ is stitched at the back to represent the iconic moment in history, and is also printed on the purple insole. “Berlin” makes its name on the lace plate to finish off this symbolic shoe. The shoe will be released December 4th at select Nike quickstrike retailers, and is limited to a 510 pair release.

The Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 has made a furious comeback in 2009. One particular colorway that seems fail-proof on almost any sneaker silhouette was applied to the Air Pegasus ‘89 that sported mostly black suede and mesh materials with a white Nike swoosh and white midsole. Now, it seems as though Nike wants to build off that shoe’s hype by somewhat reversing the colorway on the pair pictured here. This Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 sports a white suede and mesh upper with minimal black accents such as on the outsole and Nike swoosh. You can also see shades of granite on places such as towards the back end of the midsole. Which pair of the Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 mentioned would you prefer to rock? Or is it too close to call? The white/black-granite colorway will be hitting the online Nike store and retailers worldwide this coming holiday season for approximately $88.

When the Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 dropped twenty years ago, no one could’ve told how much the sneaker game would’ve evolved. But despite all of the developments in the sneaker world since then, Nike must have had a feeling these would be welcomed with open arms by OG sneakerheads. This is especially the case when simple, yet clean colorway executions show up like the one that would make some Spurs fans happy. Now Nike has cut down the color scheme even more- by one, with this pair of Nike Air Pegasus ’89’s. The upper consists of predominantly black suede and mesh material, with the patented Nike swoosh as well as the front part of the sole in white. How many of you would agree that a classic silhouette done up in a simple colorway always spells success?

Last we heard of the Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 there was an “Electric Green” colorway getting ready to drop on us. The shoe seems to include white leather and mesh, while hints of grey suede and black accents finish off is, personally, my favorite color scheme to rock because of my San Antonio Spurs fanhood. Even the sole comes in the aforementioned mix of white/grey/black materials. Slated to come out next Spring, are these in the running (pun intended) for best Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 retro release so far?
