The Nike Air Griffey Max II made a huge comeback on store shelves in 2011 in it’s original silhouette  in the classic “Freshwater” form. A wave of new coloways have hit the scene since then, and they just keep coming. When we first brought you the Nike Air Griffey Max II in Midnight Navy/White-Chlorine Blue, the images were reminiscent of the “Ice Blue” Air Jordan X.  Getting closer to the drop date, we bring you new images of the popular Griffey sneaker in Midnight Navy uppers with brighter, more vibrant Chlorine Blue accents that’s sure to turn heads. The Air Griffey Max II will be available at select retailers on May 28 for $140.

The Nike Air Griffey Max 2 has been reissued, and it’s about time.

While getting the ‘Freshwater’ was a great touch, nothing beats a clean new colorway for us to enjoy… that is if you wear GS size. Foot Locker has just started selling the Grey/ Purple Griffey Max 2’s so if you are a fan of the line and are able to rock them in a size 7 or less you may want to start calling up your local stores to see if they’ve gotten theirs in yet.

The hype behind the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II (2) has been alive for quite a while now. Back in 2009, we brought you a preview image of the some of 2010′s Nike samples, including the Air Griffey Max GD II, and last week, we brought you news that Griffey’s second signature sneaker will be making a comeback in a black/university blue colorway soon. Now, we present to you pictures of the black/varsity red Nike Air Griffey Max GD II (2), which will be making its way to retailers near you in April 2010. This style hosts a black upper accented by a varsity red Air Max bubble in the sole and various varsity red swooshes seen around the sneaker. Via Footlocker.

Before ringing in the new year, we showed our readers a couple of sneak peek shots of some Nike samples for 2010. Among that crop of sneakers was the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II in a black/red colorway alongside a white/black-grey colorway. Now we’ve received word that at least a third colorway of the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II is set to drop later on during the 2010 holiday season- black/university blue. Of course, a great part of the allure behind the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II is the 360-degree Air Max unit, which in this case sits atop a nice, university blue outsole.

Retrospect Fridays are back, and since we have just learned the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is releasing in 2009, we thought displaying the Nike Air Griffey Max 2 (II) OG was only right. The color scheme we have here is the Black / Emerald, a favorite amongst Seattle Mariners fans.

The Nike Air Griffey Max 2 (II) OG Black / Emerald released in 1997, and is the second signature shoe or Ken Griffey Jr. Carbon fiber is featured by the heel, the Ken Griffey signature bat swing is on the heel, and perforated side panel. Also, the Griffey Max 2 was the first in the Griffey line to contain a Air Max Cushioning all around. More pictures after the jump.
