So Nike decided to continue to show love for the team with a special Nike LeBron shoe. It started with the Nike Zoom LeBron V, giving the shoe a white/navy colorway. Now, the Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) gets the same treatment. The 7’s follow the same design as the white/navy-red pair, except this shoe features a custom toe design on each foot; “27″ on the right foot and “New York” on the left in gold. These babies were produced in a small quantity of 27 pairs for friends and family, including the team itself. “I want to thank Good Lord for making me a Yankee,” said Joe Dimaggio. Such is true, as the whole New York Yankees team received exclusive Nike Air Trainer 1s in a sweet NY Yankees colorway. The Nike Air Trainer 1 is decked out in Yankee blue at the toebox and flywire panel. White contrasts the dark blue at the toe, swoosh, and inner lining. New York makes its name at the back heel and tongue tag. The insole commemorates the retired numbers of the Yankee greats. On the opposite side of the tongue tag sports the Yankees logo and the aforementioned quote by Dimaggio. Too bad this is a team exclusive, because these would be great additions to any Yanks fan.

There is no doubt that New York has played an important role to the decision of the colors of new Nike models and with the Los Angeles location of the House of Hoops opening, they too have saw L.A based sneakers. The Air Sharkley pictured above illustrates this idea with the soon to be released New York Yankee edition of the Air Sharkley.
