DDCLAB x New Balance 574 & 1400

It’s been a year since the release of the collaborative 420 between DDCLAB and New Balance. This time, the two brands have teamed up to release three colorways for two of New Balance’s models: the NB 574 and NB 1400. The DDCLAB x New Balance project features the NB 574 in a clean black/white colorway, using premium black leather on the upper along with a perforated design throughout the shoe. The NB 1400s use bright colors and DDCLAB’s own premium materials, making this project all about performance and style. Check your local NB retailer to grab a pair of your own.

NBH574J1

In September we were able to show you three rather toned-down, low-key pairs of the New Balance DDC 574. While the colorways seemed to sit well with some, the New Balance team decided to continue reworking the classic 574 model. And now, there are two pairs of the New Balance H574J to show you. One pair comes in a blue/black/pink colorway, while the second sports yellow, blue, grey and black. This 574 model consists of mesh, suede, premium leather, and even speckled soles. While these remain comfortable to wear casually, they’re built to handle the outdoors and more rugged terrain. Expect a release sometime this month at participating New Balance retailers.

DDC5741

There should be plenty of anticipation this Fall/Winter of 2009 for a collection of New Balance 574’s slated to drop. One of New Balance’s most classic shoes, the 574 is a fan favorite because of it’s comfort and style. And New Balance apparently know how to treat its babies- this time choosing to deconstruct the shoe and rebuild it with a plethora of updates. The re-introduction of this shoe is known as the DDC 574 and boasts metallic leathers as well as sophisticated nylon and suede materials. Comfortability has also been upgraded with this re-invention thanks to an Encap midsole that provides for more durability and stability, while new rubber materials make it even more flexible and softer on the foot. This collection of DDC 574 includes three colorways: multi-tonal brown, blue/green/brown, and grey/reflective silver. They range between $110 and $125 in price, and can be found for purchase on certain websites. Check in after the jump for more pix.

New Balance Fall / Winter 2009

What we’ve come to expect from New Balance over the years is, well, the expected; there’s no doubt that their footwear has retained a remarkably a consistent look for a long time. However predictable, New Balance’s upcoming line for the Fall/Winter of 2009 contains some interesting new materials and colorways for the brand. The 1500’s seem to be catching a lot of attention, from a simple white and tan colorway to a neon yellow, black, white, and gray. Also keep and eye out for a more limited 574 pictured here, an interesting remix on the NB classic, featuring a metallic silver heel and accents. All together, New Balance is making an effort to remain contemporary without straying too far from their proven formula.
