For many years there has always been one lingering question: Who’s the next Michael Jordan? We’ve come to see many players emulate their game after the G.O.A.T. (this is not up for debate), but none unlike that of Kobe Bryant.

From the turnaround fade-a-way jumper to the mannerisms used during his interviews, many sports fans and enthusiasts of the game alike can agree that Kobe is the closest active player and up until now has rightfully earned the title of heir. No, we’re not saying Kobe Brant is better than Michael Jordan or anywhere close to accomplishing everything that MJ did, but for the most part, Kobe has lived up to the challenge. How? Well aside from showing the facts, Michael Jordan himself attests to the claim.

Famed writer, Roland Lazenby, is currently working on a book that pays tribute to Michael Jordan and has spoken to the man. Roland took to twitter to share his thoughts:

“Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester. I never said Kobe was better than MJ. MJ just told me Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison.”

Hopefully, we’ll all be able to read more on MJ’s thoughts when the book releases in the near future, but until then, the words have been spoken. Do you agree?

Michael Jordan has been dating Cuban model Yvette Prieto for three years now. Over the Christmas weekend, Jordan and Prieto got engaged.

This will be Michael Jordan’s second marriage. Back in 1988 Jordan married Juanita Vanoy, but divorced in 2006.

The couple getting engaged is confirmed by Estee Portnoy, Jordan’s publicists. No date has been set for the marriage.

Ever wonder how MJ gets from point A to point B?

Well, he does it the only way the greatest player of all time would… with his own personalized private plane. Sporting his collegiate colors, White and Carolina Blue, along with the ‘N236MJ’ and Jumpman branding on the rear engine and tail; Michael is taking the ‘Air’ Jordan concept to a whole other level.

A new commercial for NBA 2K12 premiered the other day featuring the G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan, Drake and San Francisco Giants pitcher Brian Wilson. The commercial is centered around NBA2K Debate, where you can pick which team was the greatest of all time.

Of course, Michael Jordan says the 1996 Chicago Bulls (we agree), Drake is for LeBron and the Miami Heat, while Brian Wilson is representing Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics.

Last we checked on NBA 2K12 Debate, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls had a whopping lead of 214 points, 2nd place is the Chicago Bulls with 121 points, 3rd goes to the Los Angeles Lakers at 78 points, Miami Heat holds the 4th place spot with 53 points, and in 5th is the Boston Celtics at 41.

NBA 2K12 is releasing October 4th 2011.

Michael Jordan hosted the Bobcats Fantasy Camp on July 18th. Jordan gave a speech, and after opened the floor for some questions and answers. One attendee asked if “(Jordan) could still dunk”? Instead of reacting in the same fashion on the Jay Leno Show (see video below), the legend himself gave a visual. That’s right, at age 48 Michael Jordan can still dunk! Although most of you are probably not surprised, and a real head scratch-er might be if Charles Barkley can still dunk.

We would like to take a moment to wish Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time, a happy birthday.

Its truly astonishing to be able to have witnessed true greatness on the basketball court. Yes, there were many NBA greats before him and there will be many more to follow… but when you think of the game of basketball (and even sneakers) the first thing that enters your mind is ‘Air Jordan’.

Not only was he a huge influence to many who share the love for the game, but he is also the reason many of us are here right now; checking sneaker blogs, camping out in front of retail stores come hell or high water, roaming eBay for our holy grail or just sitting on the couch watching NBA Gametime with that fresh new pair sitting on your lap enjoying the sweet victory of adding just one more pair to the lineup. From the moment they were ‘Banned’ to the second they first sold out, we do it all because of him.

Michael Jordan recently made a purchase; no he didn’t buy another NBA franchise. The NBA great just bought himself a dining room table that’s more than just a cool piece of décor.

Nevertheless, Sirvet, a local sculptor who works in metal, knew that he would be competing against several artists for the honor of crafting a dining room table for His Airness. He wanted something that would catch Jordan’s eye, so he proposed a table drilled with one hole for every point Jordan scored in his basketball career, totaling 32,292 (The table actually has 32,296 holes if you include the holes drilled for each leveling foot, but Sirvet doesn’t count those).

“[If I were him,] I’d like to see some manifestation of my life’s work,” says Sirvet. “It’s gotta be cool to sit back and say, ‘I can quantitatively look back at every point I’ve scored.’”

Not only does the table signify each and every point racked up along his career, but also shares a striking resemblance to the midsole paint job found on the Air Jordan IV White/Cement.
