Remember the very first images and that really eerie, mysterious video of the Nike Air Mag 2011 that popped up not too long ago before the release information was announced? Tinker Hatfield lets us into McFly’s Closet once again minus the creepy background sounds to explain and unveil the madness behind the 1,500 Nike 2011 Air Mag sneakers made to benefit the Michael J. We’ve got word from several reputable web sources that the Nike NFW Hypermax “McFly” will not see shine on retail shelves in America. Allegedly, the shoe (which bears striking resemblance to the ultra-cool high top Marty McFly rocked in “Back 2 The Future II”) was not officially licensed by Universal Studios, Inc. and was simply an unofficial inspiration for the shoe. Even so, the film giant had beef with the colorway and has decided to pull the ‘Max. We can only hope that this is a momentary dispute and we’ll eventually see the Nike NFW Hypermax “McFly” in-store.

Last year in July, Nike released the “Marty McFly” Nike Hyperdunk, and now, about a year later, Nike is set to drop the The Marty McFly edition of the Hypermax. This pair hosts a grey upper accented by a speckled mid-sole, light blue panels, white swoosh, and light pink inner lining. As if the colorway was not fresh enough already, Nike has also made the swoosh and out-sole glow-in-the-dark. The “Marty McFly” Nike Hypermax NFW is now beginning to arrive at select retailers, and we will surely update you as soon as any release information is known.

The Nike “McFly” Hypermax hearkens forward to Michael J. Fox’s Nike Air Mag he wore in “Back II The Future 2″ in a futuristic 2015 urban environment. The Hyper’s jetstream grey/pale blue/hot pink color scheme matches the Mag’s schema and features several hints from the electronic shoe, including the striped ankle strap and vibrant sockliner. The Hypermax is among Nike’s premier basketball products for 2009, but this special make-up features a nylon upper as opposed to one covered in Flywire strands. Cushioining is provided via Lunar Foam and an Air Max unit. Look for the Nike “McFly” Hypermax in limited numbers at select House of Hoops locations later this year.

The Nike Hypermax is Nike Basketball’s ’09 evolution of the infamous Hyperdunk. The H’Max caught inspiration from Marty McFly’s futuristic Nike Air Mag electronic sneakers in the “Back To the Future” flicks. The model’s grey/powder blue/hot pink scheme matches the Mag’s colorway. The Hypermax features a nylon upper and Air Max cushioning for added comfort. There’s no word as to when these will release, but we’ll update when more information surfaces!
