Earlier today, Kobe Bryant and his fellow Los Angeles Lakers came to Quicken Loans Arena to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though Kobe Bryant was reported to be ill and needed intravenous fluids at halftime, his Lakers pulled through with a 101-91 victory with notable performances from Odom and Gasol. Though the game was exciting, the true excitement was brought while sneakerheads compared the two supertars’ sneaker choices. Lebron James showed up with a new Fairfax Nike Zoom Lebron VI (6), while Kobe started the game with the Carpe Diem Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) and switched to the Venom KBIV at the quarter break. Even though Bryant’s sneaker switch is quite an interesting topic, most sneakerheads stared in awe at what James was rocking. This is our first look at the Fairfax colorway of the Zoom Lebron VI and it looks quite promising.

With all the news surrounding Nike’s new Zoom Kobe IV (4), it comes as a surprise to see one more sneaker designed for Kobe Bryant. Nike will release the Dream Season in the Fall of 2009. The Dream Season is reminiscent of the Hyperdunk/Kobe IV fusion Bryant was wearing prior to debuting the Kobe IV. The shape of the Dream Season appears to be a higher cut Kobe IV, however Nike left off Flyewire and Lunar Foam and put in place a Phylon midsole and an air unit in the heel. The new sneaker for number 24 will feature in the traditional white, purple and gold as well as a white, black and red model. Each sneaker will consist of Kobe’s finishing touches on the tongue and heel. Release is scheduled for Fall. Via theprocessofbelief at NT.

This scan of Nike’s Spring 2009 catalog proves what that Nike will be stepping their game up on all types of sneakers ranging from running to basketball and even to gradeschool sized sneakers. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers first debuted his newest sneaker model, the Zoom Kobe IV, in a black/gold/purple colorway earlier tonight. Referred to as “Venom”, this colorway features a graphic-filled black upper alongside a gold swoosh and a purple toebox. The inspiration of this clean colorway comes from one of Bryant’s favorite comic villains, Venom from Spiderman 3. Up until now, we have seen Kobe rocking Hyperdunks and a fusion between the Hyperdunk and the Kobe IV this season, but now we will most likely see him in this low-top model for the rest of the year or until Nike decides to release a new ZK model. As for the game, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Miami Heat by the score of 89-87. This colorway of the ZKIV is now available at Broward Mall Foot Locker in Miami and the Footlocker House Of Hoops in L.A. As part of Friday’s plethora of player exclusive releases at the House of Hoops in Chicago, Kobe’s Nike Hyperdunk Supreme PE will also be released. This pair of player exclusives features a bright yellow base, purple Nike swoosh, and purple accents to successfully display the Los Angeles Lakers’ team colors. As we have all come to know, Kobe Bryant’s light-weight hyperdunks have become the sneaker of choice for basketball players around the world. Though Bryant has not been spotted using this colorway on the courts to keep the Lakers a perfect 7-0 up till now, this pair helped Kobe jump a pool full of snakes in the popular Hyperdunk commercial; thus, this pair is commonly referred to as the Kobe Bryant Nike Hyperdunk Snake Pool.
